Incident 2012-8567 DWI ARREST
On 05-12-12 at 4:44 pm officers responded to Old Queens Blvd. near Gordons Corner Rd. for a report of a one car motor vehicle collision with a utility pole. Investigation revealed the driver, Arthur Tortorelli a 57 year old white Manalapan resident, employed as an office manager was driving while intoxicated. Tortorelli was charged with DWI and three other MV offenses. He was processed and released pending a later court date. No injuries as a result of the collision. Incident handled by Ptl. Incident 2012-8496 Burglary
On 5-11-12 at approximately 9:20 pm, the resident at 3 Appomattox Dr. arrived home to find their kitchen window had been broken and it appeared that someone attempted to enter the residence. Officers checked the residence with negative results and further investigation reveled that entry was not made beyond the kitchen window. Detectives responded and processed the scene. This case is being investigated by Detective Grant and Ptl. Anthony Cascella.
Incident 2012-8452 Harassment
On 05/11/12 at approximately 10:33 am, Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis responded to police headquarters for a subject that wanted to make a report of harassment. A 46 W/F from Manalapan alleges that cameras are purposely being pointed towards their residence by a neighbor. This case is under investigation.
Incident 2012-8446 Criminal Mischief
On 05/11/12 at approximately 8:35 am, Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis responded to McIntosh Lane for a report of a mailbox that had been vandalized. A 74 W/M from Manalapan advised that his mailbox was pulled out of the ground, totaling a value of $25.00. Another residence on McIntosh Lane reported their mailbox was vandalized as well. A 70 W/M from Manalapan resident valued the mailbox at $100.00. This case is under investigation.
Icident 2012-8398 First Aid: Fall Victim
On 05/10/12 at approximately 1:41 pm, Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis responded to 208 Thompson Grove Road for a report of a tree climber that fell from a tree at approximately 25 feet. The 46 YOA, W/M, of Asbury Park, and an employee of Central Jersey Tree Experts fell and suffered serious bodily injury. Subject was transported via New Jersey State Police Med Evac to Jersey Shore Hospital. At the time of this report the subject is in critical, but stable condition. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis and Detective Grant are investigating.
Incident 2012-8344 Warrant Arrest
On 05/09/12 at approximately 5:34 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 33 by Millhurst Road. The driver, Eddie Diaz (2 Barc Lane Perrineville NJ 08535, 29 year old single black male) was found to have an active warrant out of Linden for $225.00. He was arrested and processed at headquarters where he posted bail and was released.
Incidents 2012-8267 and 2012-8273 Warrant Arrest and Wanted Person
On 05/08/12 at approximately 6:06 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Walgreens Parking Lot on Rt 33. Investigation later revealed that the passenger, Christopher Tyler (260 Woodville Rd. Manalapan NJ, 52 year old single black male, employed by Superior Services) had an outstanding Warrant out of East Windsor for $500.00 and was a Wanted Person out of Monmouth County Sherriff’s Department. Tyler was arrested, processed and Remanded to MCCI.
Incident 2012-8265 Theft
On 05/08/12, Ptl. Michael Hoppock responded to the Knox Lane Group Home in reference to missing medication. Upon arrival, it was learned that during an inspection, the manager found one of the resident’s prescribed Percocet were missing. The case is pending further investigation
Incident 2012-8223 – Theft
On 05/08/12, Ptl. Dennis O’Brien responded to a Stone Bridge Court residence for a theft report. The homeowner reported that a section of his BMW X5’s front bumper was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway during overnight hours. The incident occurred some time between 9:00pm on 05/07/12 and 6:00am on 05/08/12. The value of the stolen bumper cover is under $500.00.
Incident 2012-8213 Terroristic Threats
A 45 year old Manalapan resident reported being a victim of terroristic threats. The victim advised that a 52 year old NY resident threatened him over a monetary issued. The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Jeff Emslie #116.
Incident #2012-08205 – Theft
A 66 year old male Manalapan resident reported that sometime between 05/05/12 and 05/07/12 someone entered his garage on Wintergreen Drive and removed a purple Dyson Animal Ball vacuum cleaner valued at $600.00. Ptl. Brian Cruse #104 is investigating.
2012-8099 – Simple Assault
On 05/06/12 at 8:04 am, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky responded to the Englishtown Auction for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was reported that a 57 year old vendor had been choked by another 67 year old vendor because of an argument over the placement of merchandise. No injury was suffered due to the assault. The victim did not wish to pursue criminal complaints.
2012-8064 – Credit Card Theft
On 5/05/12 at 5:44pm Ptl. Ross Dessel responded to headquarters for a credit card theft report. The victim is a 22 year old white male from Manalapan Twp. reported that his Master Card credit card number was obtained and used to make $711.42 in various purchases. The purchases were made between 7/2010 and 9/2011.
2012-8045 – Stolen Trailer
On 05/05/2012 at approximately 2:10 pm, Ptl. Eric Voorand responded to Iron Ore Road for a report of a stolen trailer. It was learned that between 05/02/2012 at 1200 hrs and 05/05/2012 at 1400 hrs the victim’s trailer was stolen from the rear of his property. The trailer is valued at $500. The victim is 55 years old, a white male, and a Manalapan resident. Case is pending further investigation.
2012-8015 Simple Assault
On 05/05/12 at approximately 12:45 am police responded to a residence on Tarrytown Rd. for a fight between two males on a front lawn. Upon arrival the parties involved had moved inside. Investigation revealed the 22 year old male resident and his mother’s fiancé, a resident of Marlboro w/m 46 y/o, engaged in a verbal dispute that became physical. No arrests or complaints were signed. The incident was handled by Ptl. WilliamDutton
Incident 2012-8003 Lewdness / Resisting Arrest / Obstruction
On 05/04/12 at 7:57 pm officers responded to the Knob Hill Golf Course Manalapan NJ for a report of a male subject exposing himself. Investigation revealed that the suspect/arrestee exposed himself and masturbated in view of an adult patron in the parking lot of the country club. Officers located the suspect leaving the area and placed him under arrest for lewdness. Arrested party, William Bruderek a 54 year old white male unemployed and residing in Manalapan Twp. also resisted arrest after running from investigating officers and was additionally charged with obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. The arrestee was charged and released ROR pending court. The incident was handled by Ptl. Jeff Emslie.
Incident 12-7972 Bad Checks
On 5/04/12 A 58 YOA W/M from Manalapan Twp. responded to headquarters regarding a dispute over bad checks. His business, Jordack Svc. LLC, was subcontracted out by A& C Sprinkles to be a salesperson for the sprinkler company. Upon completion of the work A&C sprinklers bounced two checks totaling $1949.10. This incident was handled by Ptl. Anthony Cascella
Incident 12-7955 DWI
On 5/04/12, Chief Marsala conducted a motor vehicle stop for a violation. Patricia Bonner, a 51 YOA, W/F, United States Postal Service Employee, resident of Old Bridge, NJ was arrested for driving while intoxicated and received summons for failure to maintain lane and reckless driving. Patricia was processed and released to a co-worker. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis handled the arrest.
Incident 12-7894 Harassment
On 5/04/12, the victim being a 22 YOA, Manalapan W/M wanted to make a report for harassment. He alleges that he received a phone call from a restricted phone number with harassing comments from a former co-worker at Beach Bum Tanning. The victim signed complaints. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis took the report.
Incident 12-7914 Harassment
On 5/03/12 this agency received a walk in report of harassment from a 23 YOA Manalapan W/F. She alleges she has been harassed over the past week via text message and Facebook by a female acquaintance from Newark, NJ. Ptl. Anthony Cascella took the report.
Incident 12-7843 Trespassing
On 5/02/12 I responded to headquarters and spoke with a Manalapan resident in reference to a trespassing complaint. The victim advised that his daughter was been staying at his residence with out his consent while he was out of state. The suspect (50 year old, w/f, unemployed) was later found at the residence and removed with a pending court date. Ptl. B Mattaliano handed the incident
Incident 12-7820- First Aid
On 05/02/12 at approximately 11:29 am, the Manalapan Township High School was evacuated for health reasons as a result of an oil base paint that was applied to the floor in the boiler room by the high school maintenance personnel earlier in the day. A strong odor from the paint permeated the building causing symptoms included vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and difficulty breathing. Members from the local fire departments, Manalapan-Englishtown first aid squad, Freehold First Aid Squad, the Manalapan Township Fire Inspector and Fire Chief, and the Monmouth County Hazmat responded. A total of 5 members from the schools faculty and 6 students sought medical attention from the members of the Freehold and Manalapan first aid squads of which two were transported to Centra State Medical Center for further medical attention. The building was vented using exhaust fans from the responding fire departments. There were no signs of criminal activity involved.
Incident #2012-7789 – DWI; Possession of CDS; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On 05/02/12 at approximately 3:27 am, Ptl. Herring responded to Tennent Road near the Marlboro border for a report of a vehicle that ran off of the roadway. The driver, Jean Cutillo (White Female, 54 YOA; Ocean Grove, NJ resident; Unemployed), was arrested for DWI; Possession of Cocaine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle; Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle; Careless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. This case is pending court.
Incident 2012-7724- Possession of CDS
On 05/01/12 at approximately 7:15 am, a 15 year old male sophomore attending the Manalapan Township High School Regional Learning Academy was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia by school officials while in class. This juvenile was arrested Ptl. Mikulik and was released to his parents. Complaints are pending review from the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office.
Incident 12-7769 – Harassment
On 05/01/12 I spoke with a 14 year old female Manalapan resident and her mother in regards to harassment via the internet. On 04/29/12 the victim received harassing messages while in a “chat room” on “Play Station.” This report was handled by Ptl. Bryan Belardo and is pending further investigation.
Incident 2012-7760 Theft
On 05/01/2012 at approximately 4:34 pm, Ptl. Schank #137 responded to the Gulf Gas Station (Route 9, Manalapan, NJ) for theft of lottery tickets. The station owner advised over the past two weeks, twenty seven scratch off lottery ticket books were removed from the Gulf store. A suspect, who had just attempted to cash in a winning lottery ticket from one of the stolen books, was still on location. The suspect was brought into MTPD where he admitted stealing one of the lottery ticket books valued at $300. Frankie Kovalchuk (19 years old, white male, college student, Manalapan resident) was arrested and processed for theft. Case is pending further investigation by Detective Maltese.
Incident 12-7702- Possession of CDS
On 04/30/12 at 7:24pm Ptl. Hoppock responded to a residence on Ogden Lane in reference to the residence finding suspect marijuana in her juvenile son’s bedroom. On 05/01/12, the juvenile was placed under arrest and juvenile complaints for possession of less than 50grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were forwarded to the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office. Case is Pending Court.
Incident 2012-7756 Harassment
On 04/30/2012 at approximately 7:59 pm, an 8 year old female resident and student of Milford Brook School received a phone call on her house phone. The caller spoke to the child’s father and asked for the child. When the caller advised that the child was not there the caller hung the phone up. The caller called from a number in Escondido, California. Ptl. Voorand #133 handled the report and it is currently being investigated by the detectives.
Incident 2012-7624 - Harassment
On 4/29/12 at 4:33 pm a Manalapan resident responded to police headquarters regarding harassing phone calls to her cell phone. She related the calls referenced her 7 yr old son and were from a phone number out of California. This case is being investigated by Ptl. Anthony Cascella.
Incident 2012-7577 – Assault
On 04/28/12 at 8:30 pm Tarsha Jones, Manalapan, NJ responded to police headquarters to report that her seven year old son was assaulted by an older male subject on the basketball courts of the Knob Hill Country Club. The male was described as a white male, 17-19 years old, approximately six feet tall with a thin build, wearing a black baseball hat, green t-shirt, black pants, and white sneakers, with a large diamond earring in his ear. The suspect left the area in a black SUV. A check of the area failed to locate anyone matching the description given. Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.
Incident 2012-7562 – Missing Person
On 04/28/12 at 4pm, management of the Marianne Manor Group Home located on Rt 33 in Manalapan reported that one of their residents, Jorge Lage, has been missing since 04/27/12. Jorge is described as a white/Hispanic male with a beard who usually wears all black clothing. He is 5’09” with a medium build. Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.
Incident 2012-7515 – Forgery/Fraud
On 4/27/12 at approximately 8:39pm an unknown, tall, thin, black male wearing jeans and a black sweater, entered the Walgreens on Rt 33 Manalapan and attempted to pass a forged prescription script for a narcotic medication. The suspect fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. The suspect’s image was recorded by the store surveillance system. This case is under investigation.
Incident 2012-7425 – Wanted Person Arrest
On 04/26/12, Jonathan Sorge, 42 YO, W/M, Resident of Marlboro Twp., NJ was arrested for being a wanted person from Passaic County, NJ. Arrestee was turned over to the Passaic County Sheriffs Office. Ptl.Dessel is the arresting officer.
Incident 2012-7423 – Warrant Arrest
On 04/26/12, Jonathan Sorge, 42 YO, W/M, Resident of Marlboro Twp., NJ was arrested on an active warrant out of Howell Twp., NJ for $1000.00. Arrestee posted bail and is awaiting a new court date. Ptl.Dessel is the arresting officer.
Incident # J-2012-7352 – Distribution of CDS & Possession of CDS on School property
On 04/25/12 at 1109 am, the police responded to the Manalapan High School in reference to juveniles on school property with drugs. Police arrested three 16 year old boys, for Distribution of CDS and Possession of CDS on school property. The juveniles were transported to headquarters where they were processed and released to their parents or guardian. This case will be forwarded to the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office for further review. Ptl. Heitz handled the incident.
Incident #2012-7367 Warrant Service
On 04/25/12, Lisa N. Kelly a wt/f, 38 years of age from Ocean Township was arrested on and outstanding warrant from Manalapan Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00. She accused was processed and released after posting full cash bail. Ptl. Heitz was the arresting officer.
Incident 2012-7381- Wanted Person Arrest
On 04/25/12, Kenneth J. Ewtushek, 30 YOA, W/M, resident of Jersey City, NJ was arrested for being a wanted person out of Florida. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis is the arresting officer. He was released after his arrest.
Incident 2012-7379- Warrant Arrest
On 04/25/12, Kenneth J. Ewtushek, 30 YOA, W/M, Resident of Jersey City, NJ was arrested on a warrant from Manalapan Twp. Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00. Subject posted bail and was released. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis is the arresting officer.
Incident 2012-73 Warrant Arrest
On 4/24/12 while patrolling US 33 East, a vehicle was stopped for an underlying motor vehicle violation. A passenger in the vehicle Chawn Givens (26 year old, Manalapan resident, unemployed, B/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $750 out of East Windsor. He was arrested, transported to headquarters where he was processed, posted bail and released. Ptl. Mattaliano handed the arrest.
Incident J2012-7264 – Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking
On 04/23/12 at approximately 4:54pm, a 14 year old Manalapan Resident (White Male) was struck in the head with a hard cast by a 16 year old Manalapan Resident (White Male). The victim fell to the ground and the suspect kicked him in the chest. The suspect then took a cell phone and sneakers from the victim totaling $470. The suspect was arrested and released to his parents. The victim suffered minor injuries. Ptl. Voorand, Det. Schmidt, and Det. Grant handled this incident.
Incident 2012-7301 – Bias Incident
Sometime during school hours on 04/24/12, an unknown subject removed blue painters tape from a student’s vehicle which was parked in the Manalapan Township High School senior parking lot and drew a swastika symbol with this tape on his trunk. There were no suspects identified. The tape was removed from the victim’s vehicle, a 2001 Chevy Blazer without causing damage. This incident was investigated by Ptl. Mikulik.
Incident 2012-7224 – Theft
On 04/23/12 at approximately 12:49am, Igor Sigalov of East Brunswick, NJ alleged that an unknown white male with blonde hair, wearing a black leather jacket and white wrist watch, approached the vehicle he and his three friends were in while it was stopped at the traffic signal on Wild Turkey Way and Union Hill Rd requesting to borrow a cell phone. Before a cell phone could be presented the subject reached into the vehicle and stole $120.00 cash from within Mr. Sigalov’s lap. Mr. Sigalov requested not to pursue this matter.
Incident 2012-7190 - Theft by Deception/Wrongful Impersonation
On 04/22/12 a Township resident was deceived out $1850.00. The suspect(s) contacted the victim through email and claimed to be in trouble in the Philippines and requested money for help. The victim sent money to the Philippines via Western Union only to later discover that the information was false. Ptl. George Heitz took the report
Incident 2012-7136 - Criminal Trespass/Burglary/Theft
On 04/21/12 between 1100 pm and 800 am on 04-22-12 an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Christie Court and stole various items to include a watch, wedding ring, necklace and cash money. The suspect(s) entered through the garage, which lead to the main portion of the residence. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Manalapan Police Department at 732-446-4300 all information is kept confidential. Ptl. George Heitz and Detective Leonard Maltese are handling the investigation.
Incident 2012-7175 – Burglary/Theft
On 04/21/12, between the 1130 and 630 pm an unknown subject (s) entered a residence on Barrister Lane. Various items including a safe, personal paperwork and $45,000.00 in jewelry was removed. The suspect(s) appeared to have entered the residents through the rear window. Ptl. Bryan Belardo was initially assigned to the investigation. This case is pending further investigation.
Incident 2012-7159 - Terroristic Threats
On 04/21/12 a 57 year old white male Manalapan resident reported being a victim of terroristic threats. He advised that he was threatened following a verbal dispute in the parking lot of the Town Pointe shopping center. The case was investigated by Ptl. Jeff Emslie.
Incident 2012-7107-Harassment
On 4/20/12 unknown actor(s) left an inappropriate voice message on the home telephone of residents on Nottingham Dr. in Manalapan, Twp. The caller appeared to be a juvenile and referenced the resident’s 8-yr old daughter. This case is pending investigation and is being handled by Ptl. Anthony Cascella

Incident 2012-7067 - Theft
On 4/20/12 it was reported to this agency that 9 benches have been stolen from the Pine Brook Golf Course over the course of several months. The benches are estimated to be worth $400.00 a piece. Ptl. Jeannie Letts took the report.
Incident # 2012-7064 - Construction Site Accident
On 04/20/12 at 1036 am police responded to the scene of a flat bed truck that was listing on one side on Bristol Road Manalapan Township. The vehicle was owned by Capitol Interior Products Inc. and was delivering sheet rock to a house under construction. As the Boom Crane operator was unloading the dry wall the crane was off on an angle and due to the weight of the dry wall, approximately 3000 pounds, the bucket came down to the ground causing the flat bed truck to tip on its right side. No injuries were reported and several agencies responded to include, the Monmouth County Haz-Mat Unit, Manalapan and Englishtown Fire Departments and K-Hovnanian who were the site contractors. Tumino’s Towing Inc responded and returned the flat bed to its upright position.
Incident 2012-7084 – Bad Checks
On 4/20/12 Stephanie Mamola of AC Moore responded to headquarters to file a bad check report. The suspect, Judith Fleming a resident of Howell Twp, wrote check for $15.15 on closed account. This incident was handled by Ptl. Ross Dessel and is pending court.
Incident 2012-7056 – DWI
On 04/20/12 at approximately 2:14 am, Ptl. J. Morgan Joiner made a motor vehicle stop on Conover Street near the Englishtown border. The driver, later identified as Denise Reddington (53 year old white female from Manalapan), was found to be driving while intoxicated. Denise was arrested, processed and issued four summonses: Driving while intoxicated, Failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and careless driving. Denise was processed and released pending court
Incident 2012-7033- Warrant
On 04/19/12, Carlos Cortez, 44 YOA, Hisp. /M, Resident of Staten Island, NY was arrested on a warrant from Manalapan Twp. Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00. Subject was transported to MCCI. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis is the arresting officer.
Incident 2023-7019 – Warrant Arrest – Motor Vehicle Stop
On 04/19/12 Ptl. Bryan Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Shannon Miller (32 year old, white female South Amboy NJ, unemployed) on Rt. 33. She was later found to have an active warrant out of Old Bridge Twp. for $44.00. She was arrested and processed at police headquarters. She was released after posting bail.
Incident 2012-7004 - Shoplifting
On 04/19/12 at 1248 pm a male subject shoplifted an am/fm radio valued at $57.99 from Walgreens located on Rt. 33. The subject removed the radio from its box and proceeded to walk out the front door to the business. Ptl. Richard Gallo is handling the investigation.
Incident 2012-6890– Warrant Arrest – Motor Vehicle Stop
On 4/18/12 at 1:30am, Shadera Brundidge-Perry (22 years old; unemployed black female of Jackson Township) was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and found to have two (2) outstanding warrants ($192 out of Phillipsburg and $120 out of Bridgewater) and driving on a suspended driver’s license. She was arrested and posted bail of $312.00 for the two warrants. Three motor vehicle summonses issued. Ptl. Robert Herring was the arresting officer.
Incident 2012-6935 – Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer /Disorderly Conduct
On 04/18/12, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky responded to the CVS located at 120 Woodward Road for a report of an intoxicated male. After making contact with the male, it became apparent that the male was intoxicated and could not speak English. The male was also observed to have minor injuries sustained from a prior fall while riding his bicycle. Ptl. Ruditsky drove the male home in an attempt to make contact with his family. No family members could be located and the first aid squad was then requested to transport the male for a medical and psychological evaluation. During the attempted transport, the male became aggressive and violent toward patrols and EMS personnel. While attempting to restrain the male, the male kicked Ptl. Ruditsky in the facial area causing minor injury to the officer. The male was placed under arrest and transported to CentraState hospital in the rear of a patrol unit. The arrestee is identified as Christopher Clare, Manalapan, DOB – 09-07-70, a Hispanic male, handyman. Clare continued to act violently towards hospital staff. Clare was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct. This case is pending court.
Incident 2012-6954- Warrant
On 04/18/12, Dominique Perez, 30 YOA, Hisp. /M, Resident of Long Branch was arrested on a warrant from Manalapan Twp. Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00. Subject was transported to MCCI. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis is the arresting officer.
Incident 2012-6872 –Warrant
On 04/17/2012 at approximately 640 pm, Katherine Ivins (49 year old white female, unemployed Manalapan resident) was arrested by Ptl. Voorand at her residence on Wickatunk Road for a $1500 Contempt of Court Warrant. Katherine posted bail at headquarters.
Incident 2012-6771 – MVA with injuries
On 04/16/12 at 1251 pm, a 2012 semi truck pulling a 53’ trailer, being operated by 23 year old Levi Fisher, Gap, PA, was unable to stop before crashing into the rear of a 2001 Buick Century that was coming to a stop for a yellow traffic light on Route 33 westbound at the intersection of Woodward Road. The Buick was being operated by 26 year old Bryan Fitzgerald, Old Bridge, NJ, who sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. The Buick sustained heavy damage to the rear. A 2001 BMW that was stopped in the left turn lane on Route 33 also sustained moderate damage to the passenger side when it was struck by the rear corner of the trailer. The BMW was being operated by John Ploskonka, Manalapan, NJ. Route 33 westbound was shut down to one lane for 2 hours for the crash investigation and clean-up. Fitzgerald was transported to Centra State Medical Center for his injuries. No one else was injured. Fisher was issued a traffic summons for careless driving. The semi truck sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene. Also responding to assist at the scene were the Englishtown Fire Department, Manalapan Twp Fire Department, MONOC paramedics, Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid, and the NJ Dept of Transportation.
Incident 2012-6799- Shoplifting
On 04/16/12 an unidentified W/F concealed merchandise at Bed Bath and Beyond without rendering payment. The total value of merchandise, which was recovered, was $660.00. The subject left the store in an unknown direction of travel. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-6797 – Criminal Simulation – Theft by Unlawful Taking
On 04/16/2012 the victim reported that on 04/14/12 an unknown actor(s) used a $10 counterfeit bill to purchase a $2 beverage at the Englishtown Auction. The suspect then received $8 in change back. This was done a total of 5 times. On 04/15/2012 the suspect did it again two times. The company (Diversified Quality) lost a total of $70 ($14 in beverages and $56 in cash) this case is currently being investigated by Ptl. Eric Voorand.
Incident 2012-6804 -Theft
Sometime between Saturday 04/14/12 and 4/16/12 an unknown actor(s) removed a real estate billboard that was hanging at the American Legion baseball field on Sanford Ave. Manalapan NJ. The incident was reported by an employee of the company. The billboard was valued at $400.00. The incident is currently under investigation by Ptl. Jeff Emslie

Incident 2012-6774-ID Theft
On 04/16/12 the victim responded to headquarters to report that his credit card was used fraudulently. The victim a 53yo white male and Manalapan resident stated that an unknown subject used his MasterCard in Virginia. The purchases totaled $153.37. Ptl. Ross Dessel took the report.
Incident 2012-6779-Warrant
On 04/16/12 Walter Klim, 72yo, white male, of Jackson Township, was arrested on a Manalapan Township warrant for $156.00. Arrestee posted bail in full and was released. Ptl. Ross Dessel handled the incident.
Incident 2012-6737 - Criminal Mischief
On 04/15/12 between 1230 pm and 630 pm a front door to a residence on Sheridan Road was damaged. The door had double plain glass and the outer glass was splintered. It appears that it was struck with a blunt object. No entry was gained to the residence. The door is valued at $2700. Ptl. Eric Voorand is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-6690 - Simple Assault
On 04/15/2012 2 at 9:17 am Sgt. Niesz, Ptl. McIntosh and Ptl. Donatelli responded to Englishtown Auction Sales located at 90 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan for a report of a fight in progress. Investigation revealed that a verbal dispute between two vendors started over a sales space and escalated into a physical confrontation. Neither party wished to pursue complaints and Ptl. Dominick Donatelli took the report.
Incident 2012-6691 - Theft
On 04/15/2012 at 9:27 am a resident of Apache Drive in our township responded to this agency to report the theft of two cameras and a bracelet from his residence. The victim related that sometime over the past week the three items were removed from his home. The victim related no known suspects, nor was there any sign of forced entry to his residence. On 04/14/12 at 3:56 am Adam Omar Morsi, Manalapan, Single, 20 years of age, W/M was charged with Underage D.W.I, Leaving the scene, failure to report, reckless and careless driving. On 04/14/2012, a 19 YOA, W/F, of Manalapan reported that she is being harassed by 20 YOA W/F also from Manalapan. The victim alleges she has been receiving harassing text messages over the past 6 months. Case is pending complaints and was handled by Ptl. Anthony Cascella.

Incident 2012-6568 – Warrant Arrest – Walk In
On 04/13/12 at 3:57 pm, 65 year old Steven Schechtman (occupation- sales) of Manalapan responded to our agency to post bail for a $139 traffic warrant that was issued for his arrest out of Sayreville. Ptl. Mikulik handled this incident.
Incident 2012-6573 – Warrant Arrest – MV Stop
On 04/13/12 at 3:52 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo was dispatched to Main Street near Rt. 522 in reference to a possible motor vehicle accident. During the investigation Laurie Vandeusen (42 year old single white female, 351 Iron Ore Rd. Manalapan NJ,) was found to have 4 active warrants. Two of the Warrants were out of Perth Amboy for a total of $2,000.00. There was a warrant out of Hamilton and a warrant out of Pennington for $500.00 each. Laurie was arrested and processed on the warrants. She was released ROR on each of the warrants by their agencies.
Incident 2012-6543 - Criminal Mischief
0n 4/13/12 a Longbow Drive Resident reported that his neighbor hired a tree service and had three very large trees cut down on his property. The victim estimated the value of the trees at $20,000.00. The victim signed a criminal mischief complaint in the Manalapan Municipal Court. Ptl. Jeannie Letts took the report.
Incident #2012-6608 – Burglary/Criminal Mischief/Criminal Attempt
On 4/13/12 between the hours of 9:05pm and 9:45pm, unknown subjects entered a residence on Willow Grove Way by cutting the rear window screen and prying the window open. The subjects entered through a window in the green room at the rear of the residence. No items were reportedly missing. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model white Mercedes sport coupe (C-Class) with two male subjects. This case is pending further investigation. This case is being handled by Ptl. Robert Herring #129.
Incident 2012-6587 – Bad Checks
On 4/13/12 a representative from Wegman’s responded to this agency to report a bad check that was passed at the store. They allege Sani C. Ogina (New Brunswick, NJ) wrote a check in the amount of $180.26 on 11-18-11 that subsequently bounced. The case is pending complaints; the incident was handled by Officer Anthony Cascella.
Incident 2012-6655 – Structure Fire
On 4/12/12 at 5:26 pm a 62 YOA, W/F reported that her Cornell Drive residence was on fire. Police patrols as well as first aid and fire personnel responded to the residence. The small fire was contained to the deck and mulch located in the backyard and extinguished by Manalapan FD. The fire was deemed accidental. Ptl. Bart Mattaliano handled the investigation.
Incident 2012-6515 – Warrant Arrest – MV Stop
On 04/12/2012 Lisa Kelly was stopped on Rt. 33 for an expired registration. Upon further investigation, Lisa was found to have a suspended driver’s license and a traffic warrant out of Holmdel. Lisa Kelly 38yoa, DOB 5/6/73, Ocean, NJ, a Office Manager. Lisa’s vehicle was towed; she was arrested on the $164 warrant out of Holmdel, and issued two summonses for the Suspended D.L. and the expired Reg. Lisa was processed and released. This incident was handled by Ptl. Jason Vigneault.

On 4/12/12 A 72 yoa W/M resident of Manalapan responded to this agency in reference to ID Theft. He advised that unknown actor(s) filed for a tax return using his social security number. Ptl. Bart Mattaliano took the report.
Incident 2012-6450 - Warrant Arrest – MV Stop
On 04/11/12 at 5:49 pm, Ptl. Sosnowski conducted a motor vehicle stop on a pick up truck for a motor vehicle violation and the driver/arrestee, Stephen Deller Jr a 34 year old stair builder of Brick, was found to have a suspended DL and had an outstanding warrant out of Lakehurst Twp in the amount of $1000.00. The suspect was processed and released after posting bond.
Incident 2012-6464 - Aggravated Assault
On 04/11/12 at approximately 9:35 pm three unknown actors assaulted a 33 year old male, a Manalapan resident, on Union Hill Road. The victim was uncooperative and refused to proceed with the investigation. The victim sustained facial fractures and lacerations and was transported to Centrastate Medical Center. Later, the victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson due to the extent of his injuries.
Incident 2012-6466- Warrant Arrest
On 04/11/12 at 9:35 pm, Salvatore Bonfiglio a 33 year old unemployed male of Manalapan was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Freehold Township in the amount of $1000.00. Ptl. Sosnowski arrested Bonfiglio and he was transported to Centrastate Medical Center due to injuries sustained during an assault. Freehold Township released Mr. Bonfiglio on his own recognizance with a mandatory court date.
Incident 2012-6459- Residential Burglary/Theft
On 04/11/12 at 8:04 pm, a 38YOA, W/F, Conover Lane resident reported an unknown actor(s) gained access into the residence by an unlocked rear door. The unknown actor(s) removed various pieces of jewelry. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis, Ptl. Mike Hoppock, and Detective Reggie Grant are investigating.
Incident 2012-6373 - Aggravated Assault
On 04/10/12 at 330 pm, a 20YOA, W/M, Manalapan resident, reported that a known male subject also a 20YOA W/M, Manalapan resident assaulted him by choking him and holding a brick to his head and also threatened him and his family. Victim refused to proceed with the investigation. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis investigated the incident.
Incident 2012-6358- Identity Theft
On 4/10/12 at 1054 am, A 41 yoa W/F resident of Manalapan responded to this agency in reference to ID Theft. She advised that had her credit report was accessed via Equifax and an attempt to open Chase credit card was made. Ptl S Kreizman handled the incident.
Incident 2012-6294- Structure Fire
On 4/09/12 at 2:07 pm a fire ignited in the mulch area outside the Verizon Wireless store, 55 U.S. Hwy 9, Manalapan. The fire caused exterior damage to the south side of the building, and was extinguished by the Gordons Corner Fire Company. Manalapan Twp Fire Marshal Rick Hogan determined the fire accidental, starting from a discarded cigarette. No one was injured in the incident. Officer Robert Kelly was assigned to the call.
Incident 2012-6314- Residential Burglary
On 04/09/12 at 3:45 pm Ptl. Sosnowski responded to a residence on Tennent Road for a report of a burglary. Unknown actor(s) gained access in to inside of the residence by forced entry; breaking a rear window. While inside the residence, the unknown actor(s) stole various jewelry, US currency, a laptop computer, and a game console. Det. Grant responded and processed the scene.
Incident 2012-06158- Burglary/Theft
On 4/7/2012 at 6:55 am Patrolman Morgan Joiner responded to a commercial alarm at Mezza Luna Restaurant in the Towne Pointe Shopping Center. On arrival, Officer Joiner observed a white box truck parked in the rear of the business, with two males opening the waste oil container attempting to remove it’s contents valued in excess of several thousand dollars. The Asian male subject’s identified at Lobsan Tashi of Albermarle Drive Brooklyn, NY, and Ngn Adeng of Wyckoff Avenue Brooklyn, NY, was arrested with the assistance of Patrolman Dennis O’Brien. Through further investigation, it was learned that the two males had committed the same offense at the Five Guys Burger’s & Fries Restaurant located in the same shopping plaza. It appears that additional businesses may have been victimized by these individuals, anyone with any further information please contact the Manalapan Police Department at (732)446-4300.
Incident 2012-6166 - Forgery
On 4/7/12 a Manalapan resident (24 yoa, female, resident) responded to this agency regarding a forged check from her checking account. Unknown actor(s) removed check from her Amboy Bank checkbook and forged her name before cashing the check in the amount of $300.00. Ptl. Anthony Cascella is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-6119 – Criminal Trespass/Theft
On 04/06/12 between 1100 am and 1215 pm an unknown subject(s) stole a quad from the maintenance yard of 90 Wilson Ave. The victim, a 24 year old male Monroe resident, described the quad as a 2000 red Honda 400 EX with “Fox” stickers on the front fender. It is missing a bracket near the gas tank and has a flat rear tire. It is valued at approximately $1500.00. Ptl. Bryan Belardo is investigation the incident.
Incident 2012-6114- Shoplifting
On 04/06/12 at approximately 3:27pm, Target notified police headquarters there was a shoplifter in custody. The subject was identified as Tammy Cicero (52 Willow Grove Way, Manalapan, NJ, 46YOA, W/F, Receptionist) and shoplifted various grocery items and a Playstation 3 Blue Tooth Headset. The total amount of merchandise shoplifted was $89.74. Tammy was placed under arrest and released on a summons. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis made the arrest.
Incident 2012-6043- Motor Vehicle Crash/DWI
On 04/05/12 at approximately 5:44pm, patrols responded to Tennent Road near Sandybrook Road in reference to a car vs. pole MVC. Upon arrival, wires were observed in the roadway and Tennent Road southbound was closed for a period of time until the wires could be removed. Investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, identified as Lawrence Snyder (7 Nottingham Road, Manalapan, NJ, 57y/o, W/M, Retired) was driving while intoxicated. The driver was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Ptl. Michael Hoppock and Joseph DeFilippis responded.
Incident 2012-6040 – Warrant Arrest – MV Stop
On 04/05/12 at approximately 4:40 pm, Ptl. Adam Sosnowski conducted a motor vehicle stop for the front seat passenger not wearing a seatbelt. The front seat passenger, George Archer, a 32 year old white male of Hazlet who is a rose/perfume peddler, had an outstanding criminal warrant out of Holmdel Twp in the amount of $1796.00. Mr. Archer was arrested and had a bail bondsman post bail. Mr. Archer was issued a summons for failure to wear his seatbelt and was released.
Incident 2012-6027- Theft of Services
On 4/5/12 at 2:37 pm an unknown male and female ate lunch at the Manalapan Dinner and walked out on the $41.00 bill. The male is described as 5’3” tall, dark hair and very skinny. On 04/04/12 at approximately 7:30 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 33 for a motor vehicle violation. Investigation revealed the driver (Marlon Garcia, 32 year old single Hispanic male, Howell resident, employed as a farm manager) to be a Wanted Person out of Essex Co. Sherriff’s Department. He was arrested and processed. He posted $3000.00 bail and was released. Ptl. Bryan Belardo handled the arrest.
Incident 2012-5905/5906- Warrant Arrest – MV Stop
On 04/03/12 at approximately 4:46 pm, Ptl. Michael Hoppock conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route north. The passenger of the vehicle, identified as Keith Grimes (44 y/o B/M, 9 Annapolis Road, Toms River, NJ, Self Employed) was a Wanted Person out Ocean County with bail set at $13,018.21. Keith also had an active warrant out of Asbury Park for $201.00. Keith was transported to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of bail.
Incident 2012-5916 – Simple Assault
On 04/03/12 at approximately 9:20 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo responded to the Pinebrook Care Center in reference to an agitated resident. Investigation revealed that a 68 year old male resident assaulted a 63 year old female resident. No parties were injured in the incident and the victim did not wish to pursue complaints.
Incident 2012-5885 – Harassment
On 04/03/12 at 1:27 pm, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took a report from a 53 year old female resident of Pt. Pleasant who received a harassing voicemail from a 47 year old female resident of Freehold Twp. The victim and suspect were involved in a verbal dispute prior to the voicemail being left. The victim did not wish to pursue the incident.
Incident 2012-5850 - Harassment
On 04/03/12 at 1:12 am officers responded to 345 Union Hill Road (Wawa) for a verbal dispute that occurred over the phone. The victim (46 year old, W/M, Manalapan, NJ) related that an unknown male subject called the store and harassed him. The caller also advised the victim he was outside the store waiting for him. A check for this subject was met with negative results. Ptl. Brian Schank took the report.
Incident 2012-5793 - Theft
On 4/2/12 this agency responded to 81 Pension Rd for a report of a lawnmower vacuum system being removed from the property. The victim (43 YOA, W/M, Manalapan, NJ) alleges unknown actor(s) removed a ExMark lawnmower vacuum system from a trailer in the parking lot of 81 Pension Rd. Incident 2012-5792- Criminal Attempt /Criminal Mischief
On Monday, April 02, 2012 at 7:22 am officers responded to a Manalapan residence located on Constitution Court for a report of a criminal attempt burglary / criminal mischief. Initial investigation revealed that unknown actor(s) had attempted to make entry into the residence by breaking a rear door and then fled the area on foot when the residential audible alarm sounded. Incident 2012-5820 - Burglary/Theft
On 4/2/12 at 4:39 pm this agency responded to 6 Tamarack Drive for a burglary/theft of the residence. Actor(s) made entry by smashing out the window of a rear door in the residence before making entry. They removed various items including a strong box, assorted jewelry, coins, savings bonds and a blanket. The victim (69 YOA, W/F) related she left the residence at 7:25am and when she returned at 4:30 pm she noticed the house had been entered. Incident #2012-5750 - Theft of Moveable Property
On April 1, 2012 at 1120 am, a resident of Freehold Boro reported that his pull camper was stolen from the property of 162 Smithburg Road Manalapan Twp. The camper was last seen on March 22, 2012. The camper is a 15 foot long pull camper that was green & white, no other information available. Handled by Ptl. George Heitz
Incident J2012- 5765 - Simple Assault
On Sunday, 4/1/12, the victim (15 Yoa, male, Manalapan resident) reported that he was assaulted while walking on Dogwood Court. The victim alleges that an older model red sedan pulled into the cul-de-sac and when the occupants observed the victim they exited the vehicle and began assaulting him. The suspects are described as two white males, approximately 15-17 YOA, one wearing a gray sweatshirt with Champion insignia on it and one short black male. The incident took place at approximately 3:00 pm. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-5688- Burglary/Theft
During the night hours on 03/31/12, multiple unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of homes on Willow Grove Way and Tamarack Drive in Manalapan were burglarized. Various items including currency, tools, phone chargers, credit cards, prescription medication, a DVD player, and IPod’s were removed. Several of the reported stolen items were located in the possession of a 21 year old Manalapan resident after he was arrested for a similar incident in Marlboro Township. Ptl. Donatelli, Ptl. Herring, and Ptl. Mikulik along with the assistance of the Marlboro Police Department are investigating this incident. Charges are pending. Anyone who resides in this area with items missing from their vehicle is advised to file a report with the Manalapan Township Police Department. Residents are advised to keep their vehicles locked at all times.
Incident 2012-5717 – Burglary/Theft
On 03/31/12, a resident on Tamarack Drive arrived at headquarters to report that two of his vehicles were broken into, while parked in his driveway, between the hours of 7 pm on 03/30/12 and 8 am on 03/31/12. Suspects removed cash, hand tools and a television video monitor. There is currently a suspect in this case and this case is pending further investigation. Handled by Ptl. Robert Herring
Incident 2012-5683- Terroristic Threat
On 03/31/12 at approximately 715 am, a 20 year old female resident of Manalapan reported that a female acquaintance of hers who resides in Old Bridge, threatened physical harm to her over the telephone because she had allegedly visited the callers boyfriend at his house. There were no complaints filed. This report was taken by Ptl. Mikulik.
Incident 2012-5638 – Warrant MV Stop
On 03/30/12 Ptl. Bryan Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 9 South. The passenger of the vehicle, Christian Bell (1164 Broad Street Rahway NJ, 40 year old, single, W/M, unemployed), was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Rahway and Union Twp. He was arrested, processed and turned over to Rahway.

On 3/30/12, Tara Savarirayan (29 YOA, married, W/F, 410 Sharon Garden Court, Woodbridge, NJ, 07095, Sales, )was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and found to have an outstanding warrant out of Manalapan Township for $1,000.00. Additionally, the arrestee was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The arrestee posted bail and was released. Patrolman Jared Aronson is the arresting officer.

On 03/30/12, Richard Sutton (20, W/M, Manalapan Resident, salesman) was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Marlboro Township in the amount of $164.00. Richard posted bail and was released. Ptl. DeFilippis is the arresting Officer.

On 03/30/12, Iczeek Irby (27, B/M, Fountain Drive Lakewood, Unemployed) was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Manalapan Township in the amount of $1,000.00 after being picked up by Lakewood Police Department. Irby was transported to MCCI. Ptl. Joe DeFilippis is the arresting Officer.
Incident 2012-5599 – Criminal Trespass
On 03/29/12, at 11:50 pm, Ptl Dennis O’Brien responded to the CVS Pharmacy, 120 Woodward Road, for a trespassing complaint. The shift supervisor reported that a Marianne Manor resident was observed walking in the parking lot of the store after being advised in January of this year that he was not permitted on store property. A representative of the store will respond to the court to pursue a criminal complaint.
Incident 2012-5584 - Attempted Burglary
On 3-29-12 sometime between 7:15 am and 7:30 pm, an unknown actor attempted to gain entry to a Tracey Drive residence by prying open the garage door. No entry was gained into the residence and nothing was removed. Ptl. Jeannie Letts took the report.
Incident 2012-5572—Warrant MV Stop
On 3-29-12 Ptl. Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on a brown 1984 chevy camaro driven by Pablo DeJesus Jr. ( 28 year old, H/M, married, unemployed, Iron Ore Rd. Manalapan, NJ). Pablo was found to have an outstanding child support warrant for $14674.00 dollars out of Middlesex County. He was arrested, processed for the warrant and turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriffs.
Incident 2012-144—Driving While Suspended Criminal Charge
On 1-3-12 Ptl. Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on a red 2006 Hyundai driven by Jamie Sostre (36 year old, unemployed, single, W/M, 27 Marcy St. Freehold, NJ) on Peace road. Sostre was found to be driving with a suspended NJ DL due to a DWI conviction. A criminal summons was issued on 3-29-12 and is pending court.
Incident 2012-5487 – Theft
On 03-28-12, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took a theft report from a 45 year old male resident of Manalapan Township. The resident reported that he had discovered $8200.00 in various items missing from his residence, which believed occurred sometime between 03-16-12 to 03-21-12. The resident signed a criminal complaint against an alleged 22 year old male suspect. This case is pending court.
Incident -2012-5482 – Identity theft
On 03/28/12 at 1:19 pm, the victim, Manalapan resident, female, indicated that she received a letter from North Carolina Department of Revenue that her social security number was used to file a 1040ez in that state. This incident has been reported to the IRS and is pending invest. Ptl. Charles Mazzatto took the report.

On 03/28/12 Ptl. Bryan Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Brian Adams (26 year old, unemployed, single, white male,. Old Bridge NJ) on West Dey Road in Englishtown. Adams was later found to have an outstanding Warrant out of Manalapan Twp. for $500.00. He was arrested and processed on the warrant. He was also issued summons for Driving while Uninsured and Failure to wear Seatbelt. He was transported to MCCI for the outstanding warrant.
Incident 2012-5488-Forgery/Theft

Incident 12-5476- Bad Checks/Theft of Services
On 03-28-12 a representative of AC Moore responded to this agency to report a theft. It was related that a customer who lives in Manalapan paid for merchandise with a personal check that was not valid. The representative of AC Moore responded to the court clerk’s office to sign a criminal complaint regarding the case.
Incident 2012-5441 – Warrant Arrest
Jorge J. Lage Jr. (53 year old, Hispanic, unemployed, male,) residing in Manalapan was arrested for two outstanding warrants while at his residence on State Hwy 33. He was transported to MCCI in lieu of bail. Incident handled by Ptl. Jeff Emslie
Incident 2012-5388- Stolen MV
A Valley Road resident, 34yo white female, reported her vehicle stolen. The vehicle a 2005 red Ford Focus was stolen by unknown actor(s) during the overnight hours between March 26th and 27th. The vehicle was parked in victim’s driveway and was unlocked. This incident was handled by Ptl. Dessel. Detective Reginald was assigned this matter and responded to the area and located the vehicle. A 16 year old male, Manalapan resident was located and charged with the theft. The vehicle was returned to its’ lawful owner but did sustain some minor damage.
Incident 2012-5362- Warrant Arrest
As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Sweetman’s Lane at 5:50 pm on March 26, 2012, Jonathan P. Rosenthal (white, 28 year old, Freehold resident, college student), was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Atlantic city. Subject was released after posting bail. Ptl. Incident 2012-5224- Burglary/Theft
On Saturday March 24, 2012 at 9:50 am Ptl. Jean Letts responded to the Englishtown Auction Blue Building for a report of a Burglary that occurred sometime between 3-18-12 and 3-24-12. Approximately 300 hundred knives were taken from ANB Sports along with assorted airsoft guns. The pad lock was cut in order to gain entry. Detective Charles Alaimo is handing the investigation.
Incident 2012-5226 – Burglary/Theft
On Saturday, 3/24/12, the victim (30 YOA, W/M, Monroe, NJ) responded to headquarters to report a burglary and theft. The victim alleges that the suspect, his ex-girlfriend, entered his storage unit (Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ) and removed the contents valued at $2,810.00. The incident took place between Saturday, 2/25/12, and Thursday, 3/22/12.
Incident 2012-5110- Simple Assault
On 03/22/12 at 7:13 pm patrols responded to Thompson Grove Rd. Manalapan NJ for a report of a dispute in progress. Upon arrival a white 55 year old Manalapan resident reported being assaulted following a verbal dispute. No injuries were reported and no criminal charges were filed. Ptl. Incident 2012-5091 – Bad Checks
This 03/22/12 at 3:52 ]m the victim a 58 year old Brick resident (white/male) reported receiving 2 bad checks totaling over $30,000.00 from a former friend who had borrowed the money from him. The victim related he would pursue complaints on a later date and would pursue the case in civil court. Ptl. Bryan Belardo took the report.

03/22/12 at 1:00 pm Ptl. Richard Gallo responded to Old Queens Blvd. for a report of an assault. Dispatch advised that one of the parties left the scene in motor vehicle. Both parties were located and identified and neither party wished to pursue criminal complaints.
Incident 2012- 5075- Theft
On 03/22/12 Ptl. Richard Gallo responded to a residence on Jared Lane for a theft report. Upon arrival Ptl. Gallo spoke to the homeowner in reference to incident. The homeowner related that between 6:00 pm on 03/21/12 and 9:30 am on 03/22/12 unknown actor(s) removed a grey in color small plastic bird from the front of his residence that was valued at $125.
Incident 2012-5060 – DWI
On 03/22/12 at approximately 0117 hours, Ptl. Brian Schank and Ptl. J. Morgan Joiner responded to and erratic driving call with the caller following the suspect vehicle in the area of Gordon’s Corner Road. Patrols responded to the area of Cooperhawk Drive and Gordon’s Corner Road and later found the arrestee, Kevin Felgate (Boise, ID/white/male/38 years old), driving while intoxicated. Kevin was issued five summonses including a DWI and DWI refusal. Ptl. J. Morgan Joiner handled this incident.
Incident 2012-5026 – Missing Person
On 03/21/2012 at 4:38 pm a 14 year old left his residence without permission and his parents could not locate him. His parents came to headquarters and reported him as a missing juvenile. The area was searched and he was located at a nearby basketball court and returned to his parents. Ptl. Eric Voorand handled this incident.
Incident 2012-4997 – Credit Card Fraud
On 03/21/12, a 43 year old female resident of Manalapan Township reported that an unknown actor used her credit card account number to make purchases online in the amount of $93.95. Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report.
Incident 2012-4945 – Warrant Arrest
On 03/20/12, Renee R. Reyes Jr. (Long Branch, NJ / white / male / 28 years old) was arrested by Ptl. Matthew Mattia following a motor vehicle stop for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $500.00 out of Brick Twp. Bail was posted and the arrestee was released after processing.
Incident 2012-4924 – Warrant Arrest
On 3/20/12 at 0042 hours Rt 9 North and Pinebrook Road, Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill observed a vehicle driving with the front headlight out. This officer made a motor vehicle stop. Upon further investigation, passenger Ahmid Langston, black male, from Monroe, NJ had two warrants for his arrest. The first warrant was out Freehold for $701.00 and the second warrant was out of Old Bridge for $389.00. Langston was unable to post bail and was remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institution. .

On 03/19/2012 at 1:19 pm the principal of Clark Mills School reported that a red SUV type vehicle was scene via security camera driving through the rear gate at the Clark Mills School on Gordons Corner Road. Incident 2012-4863 – Burglary
On Monday, March 19, 2012, at 0801 am patrol responded to Grayson Lane, Manalapan, NJ, for a residential burglary. The victim, a retired, 73 YOA, W/M, Manalapan Resident reported that the residence was ransacked by an unknown actor(s). Sometime overnight between 6:15 pm on Sunday, March 18, 2012 and Monday, March 19, 2012 at 7:45 am. Entry was gained by prying open a first floor rear window. This incident is being investigated by Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis, Detective Kevin Schmidt and Detective Reginald Grant.
Incident 2012-4812 - Theft
On Sunday, 3/18/12, this agency responded to Connor Drive, Manalapan, NJ in reference to a theft report. The victim (35 YOA, W/F, Manalapan, NJ) reported that unknown actor(s) had removed her wedding ring and engagement ring valued at $5,500.00 from the residence. The victim related that she had left the rings next to the kitchen sink. The incident took place between 1:00 am and 2:00 am. This case is being investigation by Patrolman Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-4810 – DWI
On 03/18/12 at approximately 1:44 am, Ptl. J. Morgan Joiner made a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 South near Taylors Mills Road for multiple motor vehicle violations. The driver, later identified as Kathleen McGarvey (52 year old white female from Jackson), was found to be driving while intoxicated. Kathleen was arrested, processed and issued six summonses: Driving while intoxicated, Speeding, Unclear plates, Failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and careless driving. Incident 2012-4784 – Shoplifting
On 03/17/12 at 1702 hours, an employee of Best Buy observed a subject conceal merchandise in his jacket. The arrestee was Justin Cesaro, 20, W/M, a Marlboro resident shoplifted 2 cell phone cases and printer ink cartridge valued at $123.97. The arresting officer was Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis.
Incident 2012-4759 – Theft by deception
On 3/17/12 a Stop and Shop Asset Protection Investigator related an unknown black male fooled a cashier into providing the wrong amount of change. The incident took place on 3/14/12 at 1818 hours and occurred twice at the same register. The store was shorted $221.82. The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Ross Dessel.
Incident 2012-4739 – Motor Vehicle Crash/Pedestrian
On 03/16/12 at approximately 1115 pm, Ptl. J. Morgan Joiner was dispatched to the area of 700 Tennent Road for a report of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian. Upon arrival, Ptl. Joiner spoke with the caller, white 75 year old female, who related that she had struck a pedestrian walking southbound on Tennent Road and sustained damage to the passenger-side front and passenger-side of her black 2010 Toyota Camry. The caller advised that she was traveling southbound on Tennent Road and that the area was very dark. Ptl. Joiner spoke with victim, white 49 year old female, who sustained injury to the back of her head. The victim related that she was walking home after a verbal incident at a local restaurant. Manalapan first aid responded, treated and transported the 49 year old female to Centra State Hospital for medical attention. Ptl. Morgan Joiner is investigating the motor vehicle crash.
Incident 2012-4633 – Attempted Burglary
On 03-15-12 at 1054 am Ptl. Gallo was dispatched to a residence on Sanford Street for a report of an attempted burglary. A juvenile was inside the residence at the time of the incident. The juvenile related that he heard a knock at the basement window. Approximately ten seconds later unknown actor(s) broke out the basement window to the residence. The actor(s) did not enter the residence and had fled the area prior to patrols arrival. Monmouth County Sheriff Office K9 Unit responded to assist in the investigation. Ptl. Richard Gallo is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-4568 - Wanted Person
On 3-14-12 Shawn Geban, Jersey City NJ, technician, married, 41 yoa B/M was arrested after being involved in a motor vehicle accident He was found to be suspended with outstanding warrants out of Jersey City $2500 and Old Bridge $500. He was turned over to Old Bridge PD in lieu of bail. Ptl Seth Kreizman made the arrests.

On 03/14/12 between 2:00 pm and 9:00 pm unknown suspects forcibly entered an unoccupied residence on Rowena Drive and removed an unknown amount of jewelry and other items. Ptl. Brian Cruse and Detective Charles Alaimo are investigating.
Incident 2012-4606 – Burglary / Theft
On 03/14/2012 between 8:20 pm and 9:00 pm unknown suspect(s) burglarized a residence on Apache Drive. They forced entry through a rear window that was locked. The upstairs bedrooms were ransacked and jewelry was taken from the residence. Ptl. Eric Voorand and Det. Leonard Maltese are investigating the incident.

On 3-14-12 at 1451 hours The victims, 41yo white male and 38yo white female both of Manalapan, stated someone attempted to use their credit card for an online purchase and open a new credit card with their identity. Ptl. Ross Dessel took the report.
Incident 2012-4562 – Burglary/Theft
On 03/14/12 unknown perpetrator entered a residence on Alexandria Drive though a rear window and ransacked the inside while the resident was away. The incident took place between 5:00 pm on 03/13/12 and 1130 am on 03/14/12. The victim was unsure at this time what was taken from the residence. Ptl. Kevin McIntosh took the report.
Incident 2012-4540 – Burglary/Theft
On 03/14/12 between the hours of 2:30 am and 6:00 am a residence on Alexandria Drive was entered by an unknown perpetrator. The perpetrator went through several drawers in the kitchen and is believed to have left when startled by the resident. There was nothing taken from the residence. Ptl. Incident 2012-4567 – Identity Theft
On 3-14-12 at 1230 pm the victim, 23yo white female of Manalapan, stated that her Visa Debit Card was used fraudulently. Unknown suspect made an online purchase for $718.00 at Brothermall.com. Ptl. Ross Dessel took the report.
Incident 2012-4555 - Theft
Sometime between 2:30 pm on Tuesday, March 13 and 9:30 am Wednesday, March 14, unknown actor(s) removed a York air condition unit and copper tubing valued at $1500 from behind the building at 320 Route 33 west. A similar incident was reported at the same location on 03/08/12. Ptl Robert Kelly took the report.
Incident 2012-4161- Shoplifting
On 3-13-12 at 9:26 am, the manager of the CVS pharmacy on Woodward road reported an unknown, older white male subject was observed on store surveillance cameras concealing two boxes of Mucinex (DM) (total value $50.00) on his person and left the store without paying. The listed suspect left in a red Jeep Cherokee unknown vehicle reg. Ptl. Charles Mazzatto took the report.
Incident 2012-4519 – Identity Theft
On 03/13/2012 at 6:23 pm, I responded to headquarters for an identity theft report. The victim, a 25 year old white male, related that when a job he was applying for checked his social security number a women’s name came up that used his number. The woman was described as a black 60 year old female. Ptl. Voorand is investigating this incident.
Incident 2012-4433-Theft
On 3-12-12 at 2:50 pm the victim, 25yoa, white female resident of South Amboy, stated that her iPod Touch was stolen from Amboy Bank Route 33 West Manalapan. The victim alleges that while working at the bank a customer removed her $300.00 iPod. Suspects are described as a white female and white male from Baltimore, MD. This case is still under investigation. The incident was handled by Ptl. Ross Dessel.
Incident 2012-4381- Recovered Stolen Vehicle
On 3-11-12 at 5:11 pm, Ptl. Anthony Cascella responded to 34 Winthrop Dr. for a report of a parked suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was a 2002 Chrysler Sebring bearing NJ registration. A subsequent check of the vehicle revealed that it was stolen out of Perth Amboy, NJ. The vehicle was subsequently towed by Freehold Towing as per Perth Amboy Police who advised they would contact the owner.
Incident 2012-4376 - Theft of Motor Vehicle/Criminal Mischief
On 03/11/12, at 3:52 pm, a 49yoa, W/M, of Freehold had his Buick Regal stolen from Smithburg Road Manalapan. The vehicle was valued at $3000.00. The Regal was tied with a steel cable to a camper. The steel cable was cut and the Regal was taken. Report taken by Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis.
Incident 2012-4356 - Structure Fire
On 03/11/12, at 8:33 am a report of a structure fire was received at McCaffrey Road Manalapan. A 53yoa, W/M, lit a wood burning stove that caught the barn on fire. The Monmouth County Deputy Fire Marshal Rick Hogan deemed the fire as accidental. A Firefighter from Millhurst Fire Department suffered a hand injury and was transported by Allentown First Aid Squad to Centra State Hospital. On scene were the Manalapan Township Fire Company, Gordon’s Corner Fire Department, Englishtown Fire District #1, Millstone Twp. Fire Co., Monroe Twp. Fire Co., Howell Twp. Adelphia Fire Co., Freehold Twp. Fire Co., Millhurst Fire Dept., Englishtown Manalapan First Aid Squad, Allentown First Aid Squad MONOC, JCP&L, and NJ Natural Gas. Ptl. On 03-10-12 at 9:54 am, Nikunj Agarwal ( 23 Springhouse Circle, Manalapan NJ, Asian male, IT professional ) was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of East Brunswick, NJ in the amount of $120.00 by Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky. Agarwal was processed and released after posting bail.
Incidents 2012-4327 - Warrant Arrest
On 03/10/2012, Steven Reddington, 307 A Main St. Hightstown, NJ, 23yoa, W/M, unemployed, was arrested at his mother’s house, Conover St. Manalapan on a warrant out of Hightstown. After his arrest, it was learned that he also had an outstanding warrant out of East Windsor for $500.00. A search of Steven also found him to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Steven was charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia and turned over to Hightstown P.D. on their warrant. The incident was handled Ptl. Jason Vigneault and Ptl. Michael Hoppock.
Incident 2012-4324 - Warrant Arrest
On 03/10/12 at approximately 5:40 pm Ptl. Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 9 South for a traffic violation. During the stop the passenger (Dennis R. Perry 2 Dickens Ct. Howell NJ 07731, 34 years old, unemployed, single white male) was found to have an active warrant out of Belmar Borough Municipal Court for $1,471.00. He was arrested, processed, posted bail and was released.
Incident 2012-4321 Burglary/Theft
On Saturday, 3/10/12, the victim reported that unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and removed assorted items. Specifically, a $20.00 bill and two credit cards were removed. The victim reported that the credit cards had been utilized to make several purchases. The incident took place between Friday, 3/9/12, at approximately 9:50 pm and Saturday, 3/10/12 at 2:45 pm. Incident 2012-4208 - Attempted Burglary
On 03/08/12, a 57 year old, male, Lee Road resident contacted this agency in reference to an attempted vehicle burglary. The victim advised that his vehicle’s alarm began sounding prompting him to come outside. As he approached his vehicle, he observed a subject running away from his residence to a waiting vehicle on Saratoga Drive. The case is being investigated by Ptl. Michael Hoppock
Incident 2012-4204-Shoplifting
On 03/08/12, Ptl. Michael Hoppock and Ptl. Bryan Belardo responded to Wegman’s in reference to 4 shoplifters, 1 of whom was in custody, 2 whose whereabouts were unknown, and 1 who was last seen running near PC Richards. Ptl. Belardo located one of the suspects near PC Richards and took him into custody. The 2 males who were apprehended, Kenneth Halvorsen (7 Zilai Row, Point Pleasant, NJ, unemployed, single, 21 y/o, w/m) and Timothy Thornton (606 Yellowbrick Road, Brick, NJ, unemployed, single, 24y/o, w/m) were charged with shoplifting several boxes of various types of the over the counter medication. Both suspects were released on summons pending court.

On 03/08/12, a female Manalapan resident responded to headquarters to report that an unknown actor had used her “BillMeLater” account to make an unauthorized purchase on ToysRUs.com in the amount of $532.81. Ptl. Hoppock took the report.

On 03-08-12 a 39 year old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor stole her Ipod touch while it was left unattended at the Meadow Creek Clubhouse. The case is being investigated by Ptl. Jeff Emslie.
Incident 2012-4169 – Hit and Run Accident
On 03/08/12, at approximately 1030 am, Samantha Digioia of McCaffery Road was driving a vehicle in the Target Parking Lot in Manalapan Twp. Digioia struck a vehicle that was parked in the Target Parking Lot and then fled the area without reporting same. She was subsequently charged with Careless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident. Ptl. Peter Chalfin handled this incident.
Incident 2012-4162- Theft of Mail
On 03/08/12 an employee of a business located on Rt. 9 responded to this agency to file a theft of mail report. Between 02-07-12 and 02-10-12 nine checks were removed from the business mailbox and cashed. This agency made contact with the US Postal Inspector Service to assist in the investigation. Incident # 2012-4113 – Terroristic Threats
On 3-7-12 at 2:48 pm a 21yoa, white female, Manalapan resident responded to headquarters to file a harassment report. Victim reported that she was threatened via comments on Facebook. The suspect, a white male from Jackson, NJ threatened to harm the victim with comments posted on Facebook. The incident is currently pending investigation, and was handled by Ptl. Ross Dessel.

On 03-07-12 at 12:52 pm, Brenda L. Rosa-Flores ( 20 North 9th Street, Newark NJ 07107 / Hispanic Female / housekeeper, was arrested on three outstanding warrants by Ptl. Ruditsky. Rosa-Flores was processed and released after posting a total of $1400.00 bail.

On 03/06/2012, Christian Murray was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and found to have an outstanding warrant out of Freehold Boro. Christian Murray, 33yoa, W/M Megill Rd. Wall, NJ, sales rep. Christian posted his $35 bail and was released. This arrest was made by Ptl. Jason Vigneault
Incident 2012-4045 – Hit and Run MVA
On 03/06/12 a 43 year old white male Manalapan resident reported that his parked vehicle and trailer had been struck by an unknown driver driving a black Cadillac backing out of Lincolnshire Drive driveway. The trailer sustained minor damage causing about $1000.00 in damages. No injuries were reported. Ptl Joseph DeFilippis is investigating.
Incident 2012-3974- Identity Theft
On 03/05/12, a 62 year old male resident of Manalapan filed a police report alleging that an unknown subject filed a 2011 federal tax return using his social security number. The IRS is investigating. Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik handled the report.
Incident 2012-3943 – Residential Structure Fire
On 03/05/12 at approximately 3:28 am, patrols responded to a residential structure fire at 594 Tennent Road. Patrols cleared the residence and determined that the residence was vacant. Fire Department arrived on location and extinguished the fire. Monmouth County Fire Marshall Hogan investigated and determined that the fire appeared to have been caused by burning remnants in an unattended chiminea in the backyard near the deck. This case is still pending further investigation by Ptl. Robert Herring.
Incident 2012-3963 – Shoplifting
On 3-5-12 at 1222 pm patrols responded to the CVS Pharmacy, 120 Woodward Road, Manalapan, NJ, 07726, for a shoplifting that had occurred. The suspect described as a heavy set white female with short blond hair. Suspect was wearing a heavy maroon jacket and carrying a dark colored large bag. Suspect vehicle described as silver, Ford Fusion with an unknown driver. Merchandise taken was men’s and women’s Rogaine hair product valued at $295.93. This case is still pending further investigation by Ptl. Ross Dessel.
Incident 2012-3872 – Serious Motor Vehicle Collision
On 03/03/12, at 2318 hours, Ptl O’Brien and Ptl Joiner responded to the intersection of Route 33 Business and Yates Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The accident investigation revealed that a 2008 Mercedes Benz, driven by 82 yoa Joseph Papa of Edison, NJ, was attempting to make a left turn (eastbound), onto Route 33 Business from Yates Road. As the Mercedes Benz entered the roadway of Route 33 Business, it was impacted on the driver’s side rear passenger door by a 2004 Subaru Forester that was traveling west on Route 33 Business. The Subaru was operated by 22 yoa Kara Zola of Easthampton, NJ. An 87 year old rear passenger of the Mercedes Benz, also from Edison, sustained a serious head and neck injury from the collision and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment. Other minor injuries were reported by the remaining occupants of the Mercedes Benz. No summonses have been issued at this time as the accident is still under investigation. A span of Route 33 Business, in the area of the accident, was closed for approximately four hours until the initial scene investigation concluded. Responding to scene were the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), Manalapan Fire Company #1, MONOC paramedics, Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid, Freehold Township Police Department, and the NJ-DOT Emergency Response Team. Incident 2012-3485 – Warrant Arrest
On 03/03/12, Ptl. Robert Kelly responded to Marlboro Twp P.D. and arrested Lance J Fair, 346 Spotswood Englishtown Road, Monroe, for an outstanding warrant out of Manalapan Township for $1500. He was processed and remanded to the Monmouth County Corrections Institute in default of bail.
Incident 2012-3797-Obstructing Administration of Justice/Warrant Arrest
On 03/02/12, Ptl. Michael Hoppock and Ptl. Adam Sosnowski responded to PC Richards and Son to serve an arrest warrant issued out of Howell Twp. Upon arrival the suspect, Michael Chiusano (9 Ibsen Ave, Staten Island, NY, Sales Associate, Married, 28y/o W/M), was called by the store manager to the front of the store, however failed to respond. It was learned that Michael was last seen going into the warehouse as officers were arriving. After a search of the warehouse, Michael was located hiding in a corner behind several large boxes. Michael was placed under arrest on the Howell warrant and also charged with Obstructing Administration of Justice of out Manalapan.
Incident 2012-3791 – Warrant Arrest
On 03/02/12 Sampson L. Coleman III (58B Amberly Drive Manalapan NJ 07726, 46 years old, single, black, male, printer) was arrested on a Wanted Persons warrant out of Middlesex County Sheriffs Dept. for $135,388.00. During the investigation of an unrelated incident on Amberly Drive, Ptl. Bryan Belardo was made aware of Sampson’s Warrant and he was arrested. He was processed and turned over to Middlesex County Sheriffs Dept.
Incident 2012-3788 – Simple Assault
On 03/02/12 Ptl. Belardo responded to an address on Amberly Drive in reference to a verbal dispute. The 31 year old female Manalapan resident related having a verbal dispute with a 46 year old male neighbor. During the dispute she related the male pushed her. She was not injured during the incident. No one was charged in the incident. This case is closed.
Incident 2012-3771 / 2012-3772 – Warrant Arrest
On 03/02/12, Jennifer Desantis, St. Andrews Place, Manalapan, single, white, female, 35 years old, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Manalapan Twp for $1000.00 and Freehold Twp for $500.00. Bail was posted on both warrants and Desantis was processed and released.
Incident 2012-3751 – Driving While Intoxicated
On 03/02/12 at approximately 201 AM, Margaret Youssef (Lancaster Road Freehold) was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Route 9 and Symmes Road. Margaret, 27 years of age, was arrested after the department was contacted regarding an erratic driver traveling southbound on Route 9 and later stopped by Ptl. Morgan Joiner. Margaret was issued multiple traffic summonses and released pending court.
Incident #2012-03740 – Harassment
On 03/01/12 Fred Azer, a 35 year old unemployed Tracy Drive resident single, white male, was arrested and charged with harassment after allegedly he yelled in a threatening manner at a 28 year old female from across the street and then later charged at her by running from his residence towards her before being intercepted by the police. Azer was remanded to MCCI on $10,000.00 bail pending court. As a result of this incident Azer was additionally charged with Stalking. His bail for the stalking charge was set at $50,000. Azer was served with the new complaint at the Monmouth County Jail.
Incident # 2012-3733 – Wanted Person/Hindering Apprehension
While on patrol on 03/01/12 Ptl. Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 9 North in Manalapan just south of the Marlboro border. The passenger of the vehicle provided Ptl. Belardo with a false name and date of birth in order to avoid being arrested for an active warrant. Investigation later revealed the passenger to be Marquis Massey (61B Amberly Dr. Manalapan NJ, 23 yrs. old, single, black, male, employed at Barnes and Nobles). Massey was arrested on the active warrant out of Manalapan for $290.00 and was also charged with Hindering Apprehension. He was processed for both. He posted bail for the warrant. He was issued a summons for Hindering Apprehension and released ROR.
Incident 2012-3731 –Warrant Arrest
While on patrol on 03/01/12 Ptl. Belardo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 9 North in Manalapan just south of the Marlboro border. The driver, Jaquana Marks (9 Ayres Court East Brunswick NJ, 31 yrs. old, single, black, female,) was found to have an active ACS Warrant out of Edison for $305.00. She was arrested, processed and released after posting bail. She was issued summons for driving an uninsured vehicle and unsafe tires.
Incident 2012-3697- Theft of Mail
On 03/01/12 an employee of a business located on Rt. 9 responded to this agency to file a theft of mail report. Between 01-08-12 and 02-15-12 sixteen checks were removed from the business mailbox and cashed. This agency made contact with the US Postal Inspector Service to assist in the investigation. Incident 2012-3720- Credit Card Fraud
On 03/01/12 an Old Queens Blvd. resident responded to this agency to file a credit card fraud report. An unknown actor used the victim’s credit card to make a $259.09 purchase at a Walmart located in Florida without her consent. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.
Incident 2012-3700 – Warrant Arrest
On 03/01/12, Ptl. Ruditsky responded to Susan Court for a report of a family dispute. During the investigation, it was learned that one of the involved parties had an active arrest warrant out of Freehold Borough. Arrested was Christian Vatovec, an unemployed male, 22 years old of Susan Court, Manalapan. Vatovec was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $2500 bail.
Incident 2012-3671-Stolen Vehicle
On 02/29/2012 an unknown actor(s) removed a gray 2005 2 Dr. Honda Accord bearing NJ-SUE19X from the commuter parking lot on Franklin Lane sometime between 0815hrs and 2100hrs on this date. The victim, Asian female, 30yrs old Manalapan resident reported the vehicle was valued at $10,000.00. Ptl. Anthony Cascella took the report.
Incident 2012-3575 – Stalking/Harassment
On 02/28/12 at 12:47 PM A Lafayette Mills Drive resident reported that he was followed by a black sedan from the area of his home to a shopping plaza on Route 9. A white male wearing a black stocking with a hole cut out for the mouth exited the sedan and approached the victim on foot. The victim fled the area, but was able to identify the male as Fred Azer, 35 years old of Tracy Drive Manalapan Township. The complainant has been previously victimized by Fred Azer, and as a result of this incident, Azer was arrested and charged with stalking and harassment and lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institute on $10,000 bail. Incident 2012-3510-Identity Theft
At 1210 pm on 02/27/12 the victim, white 59 yoa Manalapan male, related an unknown actor opened a Home Depot Account using the victim’s name and social security number. The perpetrator then purchased $2000.00 worth of merchandise at a Home Depot store located in Georgia. Ptl. Kevin McIntosh took the report.
Incident 2012-3507- Identity Theft
At 11:07 am on 02/27/12 the victim, white 43 yoa Manalapan male, related an unknown actor opened a Paypal account using the victims name and social security number. There were no fraudulent charges made to the account but victim received bill for the service’s fee. Ptl. Kevin McIntosh took the report.
Incident 2012-3439-Criminal Attempt/Criminal Mischief
On 02/26/12 it was reported that an unknown actor(s) attempted to gain entry into a residence on Main Street Tennent in Manalapan sometime between the hours of 1130 pm on Saturday 2/25/12 and 154 am on Sunday 2/26/12. Ptl. Morgan Joiner took the report.
Incident 2012-3423 - Residential Burglary-Theft
On 02/25/12 at 10:05 pm, patrols responded to a residence on Lee Road in reference to a possible Burglary. Upon arrival, it was learned that an unknown actor(s) entered the residence through an unlocked rear window and proceeded to removed numerous pieces of jewelry. Detective Thomas Mantle responded and processed the scene. Ptl. Michael Hoppock took the initial report.
Incident 2012-3418 - Simple Assault
On 02/25/12 at 8:27 pm, patrols responded to Temple Shaari Emeth in reference to a physical altercation between 2 male subjects. Investigation revealed that the 2 male subjects were staying at the Temple as part of an Emergency Housing Program which provides shelter to those in need. During the altercation, the suspect struck the victim with a chair, which resulted in minor injury. The suspect was removed from the program and the victim did not wish to pursue complaints. Ptl. Incident 2012-3342 - Simple Assault
On 02-24-2012 at 1:30 pm, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took a report of an assault that had occurred to 46 year old, Manalapan male. On 02-14-12, another male resident of Church Lane assaulted the victim by punching him in the face causing minor injury. The victim did not wish to pursue the incident with criminal complaints.
Incident 2012-3298- Wanted Person/Simple Assault
On 02/23/2012 at 6:45 pm, Ptl. Adam Sosnowski arrested 19 year old, Brittany Vatovec, unemployed, of Susan Court, Manalapan, for a $1000.00 outstanding criminal warrant out of Hightstown at her residence. She was processed and could not post bail. Ms. Vatovec was then lodged in Monmouth County Correctional Institution
Incident 2012-3295/3296 – Wanted Person
On 02/23/2012 at 5:56 pm, Ptl. Sosnowski arrested 21 year old, Kyle Kupfer, unemployed, of Devon Drive South, Manalapan, for two outstanding warrants at his residence. Mr. Kupfer had one criminal warrant out of Manalapan Township and one traffic warrant out of Ocean Township. Mr. Kupfer was processed and he posted $459.00 bail, he was released.
Incident 2012-3280 – Attempted Burglary
On Thursday February 23, 2012, a business owner of the Crystal Palace Restaurant responded to Manalapan Township Police Department to report that an unknown actor(s) had attempted to gain entry into the restaurant by prying a rear door. The unknown actors were unable to gain entry into the restaurant. Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-3263 – Credit Card Fraud
On 02/23/12 a white male Manalapan Township resident responded to the Manalapan Township Police Department to report that an unknown actor(s) had made fraudulent purchases on his business credit card worth $ 842.13. Ptl. Seth Kreizman is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-3217 – Credit Card Fraud
On 02/22/12 a 67 year old, white male Manalapan Township resident responded to the Manalapan Township Police Department to report that an unknown actor(s) had made $26.70 worth of fraudulent purchases on his credit card. Ptl. DeFilippis is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-3209 - Vehicle Burglary
On 02/22/12 during the overnight hours several vehicles were burglarized on Tamarac Drive and Locust Grove Drive. Cash and change were taken from the vehicles which were left unlocked while parked in the driveway of residences. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicle doors. The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Kevin McIntosh.
Incident 2012-03179 - Harassment
On 02/21/12 at 7:46 pm, a 41 year old female Manalapan resident responded to headquarters to report she was being harassed by a female Plainsboro resident. The harassment included text messages and phone calls and following the victim from her development and in other common areas such as the Freehold Raceway Mall. Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.
Incident #2012-3133 – Criminal Mischief
On 02/21/12 at 300 am a rock and a brick were thrown through the glass front door and front plate glass window of the Spare Pair Vision Center located on Route 9 in Manalapan. The incident was captured on video surveillance and the incident is under investigation. The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Kevin McIntosh.
Incident 2012- 3021 Shoplifting
On Tuesday, February 21, 2012 @ 1115 hours, the Manager of CVS Pharmacy on Woodward Road responded to Police Headquarters and signed Criminal Complaints against Alexander Ciccolello Jr. following an investigation into a Shoplifting complaint. Alexander is a resident of Manalapan Township. This case is pending court.
Incident #2012-3042 - Simple Assault
On 02/19/12 at approximately 9:05 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo responded to Wendy’s in reference to a soda being thrown through the drive-thru window, striking an employee in the chest. Upon arrival the victim (18 year old white male, Morganville resident) related a newer model royal blue 4-door Toyota Corolla went through the drive-thru and ordered a soda. When the driver was handed the soda he immediately threw it back through the window striking the victim. The occupants were described as 4 white males, approximately 18 years of age. This case is pending investigation.
Incident J2012-3035 - Missing Person/Suicidal
On Sunday, 02/19/12, at approximately 4:25 pm this agency responded to a residence on Caitlin Way in reference to a missing person report. It was determined that a 16 year old male had left his residence after an argument with his parents. The juvenile left a note indicating that he may harm himself. After a thorough investigation the juvenile was located and was brought to Centra State Medical Center for an evaluation. This case was handled by Patrolman Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-3012 - Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI
On 2/18/12 at 2342 hours Lt. Morrell and Officer Whitehill responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Rt 9 near Covered Bridge Blvd. Upon investigation the driver Ronkin Vanberkle, 49 year old, black male, Lakewood, NJ, was arrested and charged with DWI careless driving and reckless driving.
Incident 2012-2936 - Burglary/Criminal Mischief
On 02-17-12 at 3:27 pm a male Manalapan resident reported that his Iron Ore Road residence was burglarized by unknown suspect(s). During the investigation it was deemed that entry was made into the residence by forcing open a rear door leading to the garage and then forcing open a door leading into the home. It was also determined that nothing had been removed from the residence. The actor entered the residence sometime between 8:15 am and 3:00 pm. Ptl. Bart Mattaliano took the initial report.
Incident 2012-2899 - Vehicle Burglary/Theft
On 02/16/12 at 8:11 pm a male Manalapan resident reported that his vehicle had been burglarized and a digital camcorder had been removed from the Wegmans parking lot. Upon viewing surveillance video from the Wegman’s, 2 subjects were observed attempting to gain entry into numerous vehicles by pulling on door handles. The suspects were eventually observed gaining entry into the victim’s unlocked vehicle. The case is pending further investigation. Ptl. Michael Hoppock took the report.

On Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 717pm a female Manalapan resident reported that someone removed several items valued at $695.00 from her deceased mother’s condo located in Covered Bridge. The items were taken from the unlocked enclosed porch. Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.
Incident 2012-2860 - Vehicle Fire
On Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1040 am Ptl. Dominick Donatelli and Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis responded to Medford Court located in the Covered Bridge section of Manalapan Township for a report of a vehicle fire. Gordon’s Corner Fire Department, EMFAS and Fire Marshal Michael Lennox responded to the scene. The investigation revealed that the cause of the vehicle fire was accidental and started in the engine compartment due to a mechanical malfunction.
Incident 2012-2829 - Credit Card Fraud
This agency is investigating a credit card fraud incident which took place over the span of a week from 02-06-12 through 02-13-12. A 56 yr old township resident had their Citi Card accessed online and had in excess of $20,000.00 charged. The credit card reversed the charges and closed the account prior to the report being filed. Incident 2012-2848 - Theft
On 02/16/12 at 5:42 am the Citgo Gas Station on Rt. 33 West reported that a male subject identified as, left the scene after his credit card was denied and he failed to pay $53.55 for gas. He was located at his Manalapan residence and responded back to the scene to pay the debt. This incident was investigated by Ptl. Matthew Mattia #132
Incident 2012-2824 - Shoplifting
CVS located at 120 Woodward Road reported on 02/15/2012 that a male suspect shoplifted multiple razors from their store on 02/03/2012 at approximately 7:45 pm, and again on 02/15/2012 at approximately 635 pm. It is estimated that approximately $2000 in razors were stolen. This incidents and it is currently being investigated by Ptl. Eric Voorand #133.
Incident 2012-2721 - Theft of Services
On 2/14/2012 at 1035 am a police report and criminal complaint was filed on behalf of a Earth Effects Landscaping Company located in Howell, NJ for theft of $825.00 worth of services. The report was taken by Ptl. Georg Heitz where Craig Shapiro, white male formally of Crystal Court in Manalapan is charged with theft of services for failing to pay for yard work that had been completed at the Manalapan property.
Incident 2012-2731 - Identity Theft
On Tuesday 02/14/2012 Officer George Heitz met with a Wood Avenue resident who advised that someone has been using his identity, specifically his name and social security number in California. The victim related that he received information from the California Division of Taxation that brought the incident to his attention. A report was filed and forwarded to California.
Incident 2012-2734 - Motor Vehicle Collision
On Tuesday, 02/14/2012 at approximately 1:50 pm Ptl. Kevin McIntosh, Ptl. Ross Dessel and Sgt. Edward Niesz responded to the Figaro II Barbershop located on Union Hill Rd. for a report that someone had driven their vehicle into the building. The building sustained some structural damage, however was deemed safe by the Manalapan Twp. Building and Construction Department. The driver, 57 year old, male Marlboro resident was issued a summons for careless driving
Incident 2012-2762 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest
On 02/14/12, while on patrol on Rt 537 Road, a tan Ford was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. The driver Domingo Mendez a 56 year old Asbury Park resident (Married, unemployed, W/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $89.00 dollars out of Asbury Park. Incident 2012- 2760 - Theft
On 02/14/2012, a 41 year old Manalapan resident reported that her 15 year old son’s I-phone valued at $600.00 and $6 cash had been removed from his bag while he was playing soccer at the Recreation soccer field. The suspects are male and in their mid 20’s. One is a white male who was wearing a blue shirt and white shorts. The second was a Hispanic male wearing a black sweatshirt and black shorts. The suspects left the area in a black pick-up truck, possibly a Honda, sometime between 400 - 520pm. This incident was investigated by Ptl. Jason Vigneault #134.

On 02/13/12, a 28 year old female Manalapan resident reported that an unknown subject put up a Craig’s List ad with her information on it requesting people to contact her via cell phone. Incident 2012-2636 - MV Stop/Warrant Arrest
On 02/12/12, while on patrol on Smithburg Road, a sliver jeep bearing was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. The passenger William Clare a 19 year old Manalapan resident (single, unemployed, W/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $164.00 dollars out of Manalapan Twp. Incident #2012-2621 - Warrant Arrest
On 02/12/12 at 1332 hours, during an investigation into suspicious activity at the Yorktown Shopping Center located on Gordon’s Corner Road, 22 year old Gregory L. Pelissier (single, unemployed, black male) of Bloomfield was found to have two warrants out for his arrest. A $5000 warrant was issued out of Newark and a $982 warrant was issued out of Mount Olive Township. Pelissier was arrested and released on his own recognizance as per the above agencies. Ptl. Incident 2012-2526 – Simple Assault
On 02/11/12 at 335 pm this agency handled a verbal altercation between male and female in the parking lot of Stop & Shop. Male reported that he was attempting to cross the road when he was almost struck by female’s vehicle. They then began to have verbal dispute and both alleged that they were assaulted during verbal dispute. Both advised they wanted incident documented. Case is pending complaints. Incident 2012-2580 – DWI/MVC
On 02/11/12 at 829 pm this agency responded to area of Highland Dr and Willow Grove Way for report of vehicle off the roadway. Vehicle was located and driver (Michael F. Karabin 2nd, 37 years Old, Single- Self Employed W/M) was found to be operating motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Driver was also found to have outstanding warrant out of Madison Twp. Driver was arrested and processed. Posted bail on outstanding warrant and was released to adult male. Ptl. Incident 2012-2584 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest
On 02/11/12, while on patrol on Smithburg Road, a blue Hyundai was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. The driver Michael Sheppard Jr. a 20 year old Jackson resident (single, unemployed, W/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $257.00 dollars out of Jackson Twp. Incident 2012-02524 – Burglary/Theft
On 02/10/12 at 7:46pm a 34 year old male Manalapan resident reported two pieces of farm equipment were removed from his property on Dey Grove Rd. The items were described as a John Deere Hay Baler and a Pequea Hay Tedder and were valued at $5,500.00. Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.
Incident 2012-2496 – Bad Checks
On 02/10/12 at 1039 am, a 55 year old Marlboro resident responded to police headquarters for a bad check complaint. The victim related that he provided a $1500.00 advance on dental work that was not performed. The victim received two refund checks from the dentist and both were declined due to insufficient funds. The victim has only received $200.00 in reimbursement at this time. The victim has signed a criminal complaint and this case is pending court. Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report.
Incident 2012-2473 - DWI
On 02/10/12 at 1255 am, Ptl. William Dutton conducted a motor vehicle stop on US Hwy 9 South near Symmes Dr on a brown Honda CR-V for a motor vehicle violation. The operator, Daniel Spadacinni; married, white male, age 47, of Millstone Twp., was found to be DWI. Mr. Spadacinni was arrested and transported to MTPD where he was processed and released into the custody of his wife. He was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Unclear Plates.
Incident 2012-2440- Harassment
On 02/09/12 at 1:04 pm a 46 year old female Manalapan resident reported that a friend of hers has been sending her harassing text messages via cell phone for the past few weeks. The victim did not wish to pursue the incident at this time. They were advised how to file a criminal complaint. Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report.
Incident 2012-2437 Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision
On 02/09/12, at approximately 1200 noon, an unknown white colored vehicle crashed into a parked car on Yorktown Drive, and left the scene without reporting the incident. The white colored vehicle should have driver’s side front end damage and headlight damage. The victim’s vehicle sustained damage to the entire driver’s side. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Ptl Robert Kelly at 732-446-4300.
Incident 2012-2400 DWI/Motor Vehicle Collision
On 02/08/12 at approximately 7:04 pm hours a vehicle operated by Shari Filiano, 48 y/o w/f, Gordon’s Corner Rd., Manalapan, NJ, collided with a parked Manalapan Township Police Vehicle which was parked with its emergency lights on near the entrance of Yorktown Center on Gordon’s Corner Rd. Ptl. Jason Vigneault was investigating another motor vehicle collision when the incident occurred. Nobody was injured during the incident. Shari Filiano was found to be driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs. She was placed under arrest by Ptl. Edward Hedden, processed and charged with DWI and careless driving. Sgt. Dobbin is handling the accident investigation. Blood alcohol results are pending.
Incident 2012-2395 - MVC
On 02/08/12 at 5:08pm patrols responded to a head on motor vehicle collision on Smithburg Rd. near Grandview Lane. Manalapan Twp. Fire Department, Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, and Capital Health Paramedics also responded. The drivers of both vehicles, a 53 year old Jackson woman and a 25 year old Hightstown woman, were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center with leg injuries. Incident 2012-2360 - PUBLIC INFORMATION - PHONE SCAM
On 02/08/2012 11:29:35 AM Patrolman Kevin McIntosh responded Covered Bridge and spoke with the resident who related that over the past two weeks she has been receiving telephone calls from a man who identifies himself as Alex Jordan. Jordan told the resident that he works for her health insurer and they are changing her card number. He told her in order to do so she needed to provide him with the bank and account number associated with her social security check. Jordan called everyday for two weeks until the township resident relented and provided him with the bank and account number. After hanging up the resident had second thoughts and contacted her bank which froze the account. Thankfully there was never any monetary loss suffered by the victim. Ptl. McIntosh called the telephone number that the alleged suspect, Alex Jordan provided and it came back to a adult entertainment hot line. A representative from the victim’s health insurer was contacted and advised that they are not aware of any card changes and any such business would be conducted by mail. Manalapan Police would like to take this opportunity to remind its residents to verify the validity of anyone who would ask for your personal information especially bank account and Social Security numbers and never give out personal information over the phone.
Incident 2012-2332 – Criminal Mischief
On Tuesday, 02/07/12, the victim (20 year old, Jackson resident, Female) reported that unknown actor(s) damaged a tree stand that is used for hunting. The victim observed that the ladder had been damaged. Also, paintballs had been shot at the tree stand. The incident took placed between Sunday, 02/05/12, at approximately 1130 pm and Tuesday, 02/07/12, at approximately 320 pm. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-2333 – Theft
On Tuesday, 02/07/12, the victim reported that unknown actor(s) entered her vehicle while it was parked in the Wegman’s parking lot. The victim related that her purse was removed from the vehicle. The victim further related that the purse contained an Apple I-pad and a Bluetooth. Also, a Garmin Nuvi GPS unit was taken. The incident took place between 545 pm and 615 pm. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-2289 – Credit Card Fraud
On Monday, 02/06/12, this agency opened an investigation into an alleged credit card fraud. The incident was initially reported to the Kernersville, NC Police Department which alleged that the victim’s debit card was fraudulently used on 01/23/12 in the Wegman’s in Manalapan, NJ to make a $344.58 purchase. Upon obtaining surveillance video of the suspects, an investigation was opened within this agency. The case is being investigated by Ptl. Michael Hoppock
Incident 2012-2282 - Shoplifting
On Monday, 02/06/12, this agency responded to Sprint (US Highway 9, Manalapan, NJ) in reference to a shoplifting that took place. It was determined that at approximately 530 pm a black male, short hair, clean shaven, approximately 20 YOA, wearing a white jacket/jeans entered the store and removed a white iphone 4s from the display. During the investigation it was determined that the suspect had attempted to remove an iphone from Best Buy several minutes earlier. The suspect left the area in a newer model black Ford Mustang. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-2183 – Criminal Mischief
On Saturday, 02-04-12, a female 61 year old Marlboro resident responded to this agency to report criminal mischief and harassment. The victim related that an unknown white male actor scratched the side of her vehicle and later called her a derogatory name in the Wegmans parking lot. The incident occurred on this date at 2:50 pm. Ptl. Jeff Emslie is currently investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-2176 – Burglary/Theft
On Saturday, 02-04-12, a white/male Manalapan resident reported that unknown actor(s) burglarized his enclosed trailer. Initial investigation revealed that the unknown actor(s) had gained access to the trailer through a cut pad lock on the rear access door. Multiple tools were removed from the trailer. Ptl. Bart Mattaliano is currently investigating.
Incident 2012-2134 - Theft
On Friday, February 3, 2012 at 518 pm a 36yr old male Holmdel resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters to report that someone used his Monmouth County Library card to take out 60 DVD movies from the Monmouth County Library over several days in November 2011 and has yet to return any of them. Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.
Incident 2012-2118 – Burglary/Theft
On Friday, February 03, 2012 at 153 pm a white female Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor had burglarized her residence on Taylor Mills Road. Initial investigation revealed that the unknown actor had gained access to the residence through the bathroom window and removed multiple items from the residence. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli, Jr. took the report. Det. Charles Alaimo is investigating the incident.
Incident 2012-2080 – Credit Card Fraud
This agency is investigating an alleged credit card fraud incident that took place sometime on 1-29-12. A 60 yoa, male resident alleges an unknown subject gained access to his credit card and charged in excess of $1400.00 worth of computer equipment online. The charges were subsequently frozen due to suspicious activity. The case is pending investigation by Ptl. Anthony Cascella.
Incident 2012-2056 – Motor Vehicle Accident
On Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 1322 hours patrols responded to a one car (car vs. pole) motor vehicle collision on Route 522, Manalapan. Investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, a white male Monroe Twp. resident, was attempting to use his GPS when he observed that another vehicle had stopped in front of him, yielding to on coming traffic to make a left turn into a local business, he swerved to the right hitting a utility pole breaking it in two places. The collision resulted in the electrical wires falling on top on the man’s work vehicle. JCP&L responded to the scene to shut down the power. Manalapan – Englishtown First Aid Squad and Englishtown Fire Department responded to the scene and removed the driver. The driver did not sustain any life threatening injuries. The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving and for failure to wear his seatbelt. Route 522 was shut down for several hours while JCP&L and Verizon made repairs. Ptl. On 02/02/2012, Thursday while on patrol Ptl. Seth Kreizman stopped a vehicle occupied by Alexander Pritsker 22 year old white male of English Club Dr, Englishtown, tennis pro. Pritsker was found to have an outstanding Warrant out of Manalapan, and he was arrested, processed and released after posting $164. bail.
Incident 2012-2044 – Identity Theft
On Thursday, February 02, 2012 the victim, a white female resident, responded to this agency to report that an unknown actor had open an AT&T wireless account in her name. This report was taken by Ptl. Dominick Donatelli, Jr. and this incident is currently under investigation. The Manalapan Township Police Department would like to remind its residents to periodically check all accounts and be sure to shred all documents before discarding them.
Incident 2012-2014 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest
On Wednesday, 2/1/12, a black Corvette was stopped for motor vehicle violations. The driver, identified as Christian Richards (Old Queens Boulevard, Manalapan, NJ, 5/18/78,W/M, Operating Engineer, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Belmar, NJ. The driver posted bail and was released. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Jared Aronson.
Incident 2012-1941 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest
On 1-31-12, while on patrol a vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. The driver w/m John Kalapos (DOB 5-18-71, Unemployed) was found to have an outstanding Child support warrant for $5670.87 dollars out of Ocean County. He was arrested, processed and Remanded to OCCI. Incident 2012-1910 – Identity Theft/Credit Card Fraud
On 1/31/12 at 335 pm ,w/f, Manalapan Business Owner, Union Hill Rd., came into headquarters and reported that unknown person(s) made six transactions using her business debit card. The purchases were made out of state and one was made in Australia. The total reported loss was $1192.74 case was handled by Ptl. Edward Hedden .
Incident 2012-1922 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest
On 1-31-12, while on patrol a vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. The driver w/m Mohammed Nasser (DOB 1-13-89, ) was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant for $114 dollars out of Jamesburg Boro. He was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Incident 2012-591 - Suspended NJ Drivers License/Criminal Charge
On 1-10-12, while on patrol a vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. The driver w/m Edmund Kean (Manalapan resident) was found to be driving on a suspended NJ license. He was issued two motor vehicle summonses one for driving while suspended and one for obstructed view. It was later determined that Edmund was suspended for a DWI conviction. He was later charged under NJ criminal statue for driving while suspended after a DWI conviction. Case handled by Ptl. Bart Mattaliano and is currently pending court.
Incident 2012-1819 - Possession of CDS (Heroin)
On 01/30/12, at 12:08 am, Ptl Dennis O’Brien and Ptl Robert Herring responded to 5 Susan Court for a trespassing complaint. During the investigation, Brittany Vatovec, who resided at the address, was arrested for possession of heroin. Bail was set at $10,000.00. The nineteen year old female also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Hightstown Boro, NJ, in the amount of $833.00. Vatovec was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. This case is pending court.
Incident 2012-1859 - Burglary / Theft
On 1-30-12, the business owner of Cranked Gym reported that approximately $2750 dollars worth of gym equipment was taken from the gym some time during the night of 1-29-12. This case is pending investigation and is being handled by Ptl. Bart Mattaliano

On 01/30/2012 A 42 year old township male from Coventry Court reported that his money clip containing various denominations of US currency totaling approximately $180 and various credit cards and identification was taken from his residence sometime a week earlier. Ptl. George Heitz took the report.
Incident 2012-1804 – DWI/Wanted person
On 01/29/12 at approximately 519 pm Joseph Sefack (155 Cross Slope Ct. Manalapan NJ 07726, white male 47 years old, single, employed at Danna Motors) was stopped for motor vehicle violation on Rt. 9 South in Manalapan. He was later found to be DWI and driving with a suspended license. He was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless, Careless, Suspended D.L., Unregistered Vehicle, Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Inspect. The incident was handled by Ptl. Bryan Belardo and is pending court. The subject was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Middlesex County Sheriffs in the amount of $7151.42. The suspect was turned over to Middlesex County Sheriff in default of bail.
Incident 2012-1767 DWI
On 01/28/12 at approximately 1053pm a red Chevrolet Venture was stopped following a call about the vehicle being driven erratically. The vehicle, driven by Edward Blaszczyk (558 Union Hill Road, Morganville, NJ, Unemployed, Married, 54y/o, W/M), was located partially in a driveway and partially in the roadway on Union Hill Road. Blaszczyk was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest. Blaszczyk was also found to have an active traffic warrant out of Wall Twp. Blaszczyk was issued summonses for DWI, Open Container of Alcohol in a MV, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless, Careless, Obstructing Passage of MV, and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. Blaszczyk was subsequently released ROR on both the Manalapan Twp charges and Wall Twp Warrant. Ptl. Michael Hoppock made the arrest.
Incident 2012-1761 – Possession of CDS
On 01/28/12 at 7:35 pm Ptl. Bart Mattaliano stopped a vehicle on Smithburg Road for a motor vehicle violation. As a result of the stop a male passenger, Carl Morris, Lakewood, b/m, 28 yoa, unemployed, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. Morris also had an outstanding warrant out of Toms River for $1500.00 The driver, Tamara Caprio, Jamesburg, b/f, 30 yoa, unemployed, was also charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of marijuana in a mv. Both subjects were processed and released. Morris posted bail on his outstanding warrant.
Incident 2012-1754 - Possession of CDS
On 01/28/12 at approximately 542 pm, Max Goldberg, 24 yoa, unemployed, single, Manalapan resident was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Union Hill Road and found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana. Ptl. Michael Hoppock made the arrest.
Incident 2012-1725 - Receiving Stolen Property
On 01/28/12 James S. Garbowski 24 yoa, unemployed, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property (assorted power tools) after a victim of a burglary that occurred in Old Bridge Township noticed items belonging to him for sale while walking through Englishtown Auction. Patrolman Kevin McIntosh made the arrest with the assistance of Old Bridge Police Detectives.
Incident 2012-1729 – Theft
On 01/28/2012 the victim, a 37 year old resident of Warwick Drive related that sometime during the overnight hours and unknown actor removed his mailbox and wooden post valued at approximately $100.00. Ptl. Robert Kelly took the report.
Incident 2012-1712 – Residential Burglary
At 100 am on 01/28/12 a Livingston Lane resident (57 yoa female) contacted this agency to report a burglary of her residence. The victim advised that sometime between 630 pm and 1020 pm on Friday 01/27/2012 an unknown actor forcibly entered the residence through a rear window and ransacked the master bedroom. Taken was $170.00 in cash. Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill responded along with Detective Kevin Schmidt.
Incident 2012- 1647 – Armed Robbery/Burglary
On 01/27/2012 At 0703 hours the victim, a 23 year old male resident of Manor Court, Manalapan contacted the police department and advised he had been the victim of an armed robbery. The victim related that at approximately 6:15 am he awoke to find two male suspects in his home who demanded money. One of the suspects was armed with a knife. The suspects are identified as a white male, approximately 20-30 yoa, 5’6” and 175 pounds. Suspect 2 – black male, 20-25 yoa, 6’0” tall approximately 165 pounds. The suspect vehicle is described as a white 4 door with tinted windows and blue colored headlights. Proceeds from the robbery were between $150.00 and $200.00 in US currency. There were no injuries reported. Any persons with information are urged to contact the Manalapan Twp. Police Department at 732-446-4300. Detective Kevin Schmidt and Ptl. Robert Kelly are investigating this matter.
Incident 2012-1549 - Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision
On 1-26-12 Thomas F. Bell was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended DL after a DWI. His charges stem from an investigation of a hit and run accident that took place on 1-25-12 on Union Hill Rd. Thomas was also charged with 4 outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions. Ptl. Incident 2012-1601 - Shoplifting
On 213 pm on 01/26/12 Margaret Chan (42 yoa, asian female) of Jackson, NJ was apprehended by Target Loss Prevention and charged with shoplifting less than $200.00 worth of merchandise. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli, Jr. took the report.
2012-1196 – Robbery Arrest
On 01/25/2012 at approximately 315 pm as a result of an investigation the Manalapan Twp. Police Department arrested two subjects for the robbery and assault which occurred in the Target Department store on Friday, January 20th, 2012. Arrested was Berron West, 324 Oak Knoll Drive, Manalapan, 42yoa, b/m, unemployed. West was charged with robbery, simple assault, conspiracy to commit shoplifting and criminal attempted shoplifting. West was lodged in MCCI in default of $140,000 bail. Also arrested was Cortney Appelbaum, 324 Oak Knoll Drive, Manalapan, w/f, 32 yoa, unemployed – she was charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting and criminal attempted shoplifting. Appelbaum was also lodged in MCCI in default of $80,000.00 bail. The pair originally attempted to shoplift approximately $700.00 worth of baby formula, diapers and clothing from the store. Detectives Leonard Maltese and Detective Thomas Mantle were assigned the investigation. Old Bridge Township Police also assisted.
Incident 2012-1551- Possession of CDS with Intent to distribute
On 01/25/12 at approximately 6:00 pm white male juvenile from Marlboro Twp. was stopped for motor vehicle violation and found to be in possession of CDS, with intent to distribute. Money was seized in arrest of the juvenile. Juvenile was processed and released to parents. Ptl. Carey conducted Investigation.
Incident 2012-1474 – Receiving Stolen Property
On 01/24/12 this agency stopped a gray Ford Focus as a result of motor vehicle violations. It was determined that the vehicle’s license plates had been reported stolen out of Toms River, NJ. The driver, identified as Kizzie Morrison (19 Kingsbridge Avenue, Staten Island, NY, 10314) a black female of Staten Island, NY was arrested for receiving stolen property. The arrestee is employed at Derma Plastic Arts, Staten Island, NY as a Medical Assistant. Additionally, the driver was found to have two outstanding warrants out of Wall Township and Freehold Township. The driver posted bail and was released on summonses. Ptl. Incident 2012-1483 – Fraud
On 01/24/2012 the victim (86 year old female resident) reported that an unknown male subject contacted her and identified himself as her grandson. He convinced her that he was in jail in Canada and needed bail money. The victim wired $2012.00 through Western Union before learning she had been scammed. Ptl. Edward Hedden took the report.
Incident 2012-1471 – Attempted Burglary/Criminal Mischief
On 01/24/2012 at 430 pm the victim reported that sometime between December 2011 and 01/24/2012 an unknown subject(s) broke a padlock from the shed of a residence on Edwards Lane. Nothing was removed or disturbed from inside the shed. Ptl. Bryan Belardo took the report.
2012-1303 – Harassment/Theft
On 01/21/12 a resident from Rockingham Ct. responded to police headquarters to file a report involving their landlord harassing them over rent that is due. The harassment involved threatening text messages sent to the victims and the landlords showing up at the residence unannounced. The victims further allege that the landlords removed a mini refrigerator valued at $200.00 from the residence. This incident is being investigated by Ptl. Brian Cruse #104.

On 01/20/12, a resident of Covered Bridge responded to this agency to file a report of harassment. The victim related several of her neighbors continue to harass her when outside of her residence. This incident is being investigated by Ptl. Brian Schank.
2012-1109 – Criminal Mischief
On Wednesday, 01/18/2012, a resident of Covered Bridge responded to this agency to report that sometime in the overnight hours of 01/17/12, her vehicle was keyed and a tire was punctured while it was parked in the building parking lot. This incident is being investigated by Ptl. Jason Vigneault.
2012-1196 – 01/20/12 – Robbery/Shoplifting
At approximately 1000 am, Target Loss Prevention employees attempted to detain a male suspect identified to be shoplifting. The suspect, described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, subsequently assaulted the loss prevention employee and fled the store on foot. He was observed entering the passenger’s side of a gray sport utility vehicle being operated by a white female believed to be involved in the attempted shoplifting.
No property was successfully removed from the store, however, 2 target employees sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation and were treated by Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad.
This incident does not appear to be related to prior reported incidents at the Target Store.

Incident 2012-1251 – Theft by Unlawful Taking
Between 1120 pm on 01/20/2012 and 1150 pm on 01/20/2012 unknown actor(s) removed a cell phone valued at approximately $600.00 from a purse located inside of a vehicle at the Battleground Country Club. This incident is currently being investigated by Ptl. Matt Mattia.
Incident 2012-861 - Burglary Arrest
On January 19th 2012 as a result of his investigation Detective Charles Alaimo charged Patrick Dileo, 08-01-1990, w/m, 60 Maxwell Lane, Manalapan, with Burglary and theft to a residence on Fawn Run. The incident occurred on January 15, 2012. Dileo was processed and released without bail.
Incident 2012-861 – Burglary
At 300 am on Sunday 01/15/2011 patrols responded to Fawn Run for a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival the actors had fled but were positively identified by the victim who observed one of the actors in his bedroom. Several items were removed from the residence but dropped at the scene. Ptl. William Dutton and Detective Charles Alaimo are investigating.
Incident 12-882 - Robbery, Conspiracy, Aggravated Assault, Shoplifting
On 01-15-12 at 1436 hrs Ptl. Richard Gallo responded to the Target Department Store located at 55 Rt. 9 south for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival it was learned that a male and female suspect attempted to shoplift $1,437.06 worth of baby formula from the store. A Target loss prevention officer attempted stop the male suspect at the exit of the store at which time the suspect proceeded to assault the loss prevention officer. The suspect then fled on foot towards Rt. 9 and possibly entered a blue in color Toyota Camry bearing a Virginia Registration. The loss prevention officer was transported to Centrasate Hospital and was treated for contusions, a broken finger and a sprained arm. This case is pending further investigation.
Incident 12-862 Hit and Run MVA
On 1/15/12 at 415 am unknown vehicle/actor struck a parked car in front of 21 Bunker Hill Dr and left the scene leaving behind red paint debris and broken glass. Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill is investigating.
Incident 2012-819 – Theft by Deception – Phone Scam
On 1/14/2012 a 95 year old Manalapan female related that on 01/13/2012 she was contacted by a male suspect who identified himself as her grandson. The suspect related to the victim that he had been arrested in Barcelona Spain and needed money wired to him right away. The victim sent $2526.00 to the suspect in Barcelona before learning that she has been the victim of a scam. Ptl. Charles Mazzatto took the report.
Incident #s 2012-00803-00805 – Warrant Arrest
On 01-14-12 at 910 am, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky stopped a vehicle on Route 33 Westbound for a state law violation. The operator of the vehicle, identified as 25 year old Belisario Mizhirumbay, 307 Delphine Street Floor 1, Philadelphia PA, was found to have three outstanding warrants. Mizhirumbay was placed under arrest and posted a total of $1264.00 bail.
Incident #2012-722 - Theft by Deception
On 1/12/12 at 8:05 pm a Barrister Lane resident (27 year old female) related that on 01/03/12 an unknown actor submitted a false insurance claim using her personal information and in doing so obtained an Iphone valued at $199 dollars, which was then delivered to Tallahassee, Florida. Incident #2012-0679 Criminal Mischief to a Motor Vehicle
Sometime during the overnight hours on January 11, 2012, an unknown actor(s) slashed two tires valued at $500.00 on a 2001, GMC Yukon on Quail Court. Incident 2012-610 Defiant Trespass
At 0750 am on 01/11/2012 patrols responded to the CVS pharmacy in reference to a trespasser who had been previously been warned not to enter the store or be on store property. The suspect, Stephen Rinaldi, (327 Hwy 33, 03/02/1960 w/m) was charged with defiant trespass. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli responded.
Incident 2012-0551 Criminal Attempt – False Prescriptions
On 01/10/2012 at 1220 hours Walgreen Pharmacy, 305 Hwy 33 reported that on 01/08/12 an unknown male actor entered the store and attempted to obtain 120 Oxycodone pills using a stole prescription. The on-duty pharmacist became suspicious and did not fill the prescription but was not able to verify the script was stolen until 01/10. Ptl. Robert Kelly took the report.

Between 600 pm on 1/9/12 and 120 am on 1/10/12 unknown actor(s) stole a 2009 black Mercedes Benz Valued at $56,000.00 from a driveway on Molly Pitcher Dr. The vehicle was left unlocked with the key inside. Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill took the report.
Incident #2012-521 Burglary of a Residence
Between 640 pm and 710 pm on 01/09/2012, an unknown actor(s) entered a residence located on Mohawk Lane and stole numerous pieces of gold, diamond, and silver jewelry from the residence. It is estimated that over $10,000 in jewelry was taken. There were no signs of forced entry. This case is being investigated by Ptl. Eric Voorand and the detective bureau. .
Incident #2012-517 Forgery/ Theft
On 01/09/2012 the victim reported that between 10/27/11 and 11/03/11, a female Englishtown resident allegedly took possession of two checks made out to her son, each in the amount of $700.00. The checks were rent payments on a property which the victim owns. The suspect proceeded to allegedly forge her son’s signature on the checks and cash them. Sometime during the overnight hours on Sunday, 01/08/12, an unknown subject entered an unlocked 2008 Jeep Wrangler that was parked in the driveway on Holiday Road and removed two pairs of sunglasses valued at $300. Ptl. Charles Mazzato is investigating this incident.
Incident 2012 -109/110 – Commercial Burglary
Sometime between 1200 noon on 12/24/2012 and 1100 am on 01/02/12 an unknown actor entered 2 storage sheds located at 333 Iron Ore road and removed construction equipment belonging to two separate victims. One victim had a gas powered saw and leaf blower removed valued at $1250.00 The second victim a nail gun, air compressor, and assorted drills valued at $400.00. There were no signs of forced entry and Ptl. Heitz took the report.
Incident 2012 –112 - Bad Checks
On 01/03/2012 at 1223 pm Wegman’s security personnel responded to headquarters to report that a known actor ( male, Millstone Resident) had passed 5 bad checks valued at $329.06 for goods purchased. This matter is pending criminal complaints – Ptl Richard Gallo took the report.
Incident 2013–113 - Bad Checks
On 01/03/2012 at 1223 pm Wegman’s security personnel responded to headquarters to report that a known actor (male, Pennsylania resident) had passed 11 bad checks valued at $708.62 for goods purchased. This matter is pending criminal complaints – Ptl Richard Gallo took the report.
Incident 2012-142 – Road Rage – Simple Assault
On 01/03/2012 at 650 pm Ptl. Jared Aronson responded to Symmes Drive for a reported simple assault stemming from a road rage incident. Upon arrival two parties, Manalapan male age 38 and Manalapan female age 48 were located in Monmouth County Library Lot. The male alleged that the female spit in his vehicle during the dispute and the female alleged that she was assaulted. This matter is pending citizen complaints.
Incident 2012-147 – Residential Burglary
Between 745 am and 730 pm on January 3, 2012 an unknown actor forcibly entered a Maxwell Lane residence and removed a safe containing assorted items. Ptl. Jared Aronson and Detective Leonard Maltese responded to investigate.
Incident #2012-0190-149 pm Theft
On January 4, 2012 a 52 year old Sutton Drive resident reported that an unknown actor(s) had removed his silver Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS and its accessories from his vehicle sometime between Saturday 12/24/11 and Saturday 12/31/11. There was no evidence of forced entry into his vehicle. This incident is pending investigation. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli took the report.
Incident #2012-0100-0828 am Possession of an Imitation Firearm
On January 03, 2012 at 0828 hours the Manalapan Township Police Department received a phone call in reference to a suspicious male walking down State Hwy 33. The male was wearing all black clothing with a hood and dark sunglasses. The man was holding what appeared to be a shotgun. The subject was apprehended by Ptl. Chalfin and was in possession of three walking canes that were assembled together to resemble a firearm. The subject was arrested and subsequently charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm and Disorderly Conduct. The suspect was identified as Jorge Lage, Manalapan, Hispanic Male, 51 years of age, unemployed. This incident is pending court.
Incident #2012-207- 613 am DWI
On 01/04/12 at 613 am Lori Lanzaro (50 year old female, unemployed, divorced) of Manalapan was stopped on Rt 9 North for a motor violation. Lanzaro was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and a suspended driver’s license. After further investigation, Lanzaro was then placed under arrest for DWI by Sgt Dobbin. Lanzaro was released R.O.R and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Suspended D.L. and Suspended registration. Case is pending court.
Incident #2012-378 Burglary/theft
On 01-07-12 at 1108 hours, a 60 year old male resident of Manalapan Township reported that a snow blower and self-propelled lawnmower valued at $800.00 were removed from a storage shed in the rear of his Mercer Lane residence. Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report. This case is pending investigation.
Incident #2012-409 Theft
On 01/07/12 at 635 pm a male Manalapan Twp. resident advised various items (Manalapan Braves hoodie, girls jeans, men’s gym shorts, engraved jewelry box, woman’s rings, a silver locket, Ann Klein watch) were missing from his residence on Plymouth Lane. Ptl. Bryan Belardo took the report. This case is pending investigation.
Incident 2012-0448 – Criminal Mischief
A resident of Shinnecock Drive reported to police that on 01/07/12 at 1105 pm his neighbor damaged his vehicle that was parked in the driveway by keying the driver’s side of the vehicle. The victim further related that the incident was video recorded. Ptl. Chalfin investigated and as a result of the video and investigation on 01/10/2012 Jerry Kossower, 57 year old white male, Shinnecock Drive, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. Incident 2011-24371 – Theft
On 12/24/2011 the victim, a 45 year Manalapan male of Sweetman’s Lane reported that an unknown actor removed approximately $600.00 cash from his dresser drawer located in the master bedroom. The theft occurred between 5:00 pm on 12/22/2011 and 6:30 pm on 12/23/2011. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli took the report.
Incident 2011-24373 - Theft of mail
On 12-24-11, a resident from 35 Blemheim Road observed a white male remove mail from her mailbox. The area was canvassed by patrols with negative results. The mail was valued at $2.50. This case is pending investigation.
Incident 2011-24398 - Trespass
On 12-24-11, patrols responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at an unoccupied residence on Deer Way. After further investigation, the vehicle’s two occupants were former tenants of the residence. Both occupants were advised that they were trespassing and not to return to the property. Case closed.
Incident 2011-24326 – Harassment/Terroristic Threats
On 12/23/2011 the victim, 53 year old Manalapan male, received a package delivered via the US postal service which contained the partials remains of a deceased cat along with a threatening note. This matter is pending investigation and is being handled by Ptl. Edward Hedden and Detective Leonard Maltese.
Incident 11-24329 - Identity theft
On 12/23/2011, a Oak Knoll resident received a call from his bank stating that an unknown male had cashed two $400.00 checks on his account. The resident was further told that a third was attempted, but stopped by the bank. The bank refunded the resident the money and froze all accounts. This case will be investigated further by Chase Bank.
Incident 2011-24253 – Theft by Deception – Peru Scam
On 12-22-11 the victim reported that on 12-13-2011 he was contacted via phone by a suspect posing as his Grandson-in-law. The suspect advised the victim that he was in police custody in Peru. The suspect further advised that he needed $2873.00 wired immediately so his case could be processed more quickly by US embassy. The suspect also had an accomplice who identified himself as an attorney. The victim sent $3017.65 through a local Western Union office only to learn that he had been the victim of a scam. Ptl. Incident 2011-24211 – DWI
On 12-22-11 at 0111 hours the suspect, Bartlomie Reinisz, 27 years of age, construction worker, single, residing in Englishtown, NJ was stopped for tailgating on Union Hill Road. As a result of stop he was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, tailgating and driving with an expired license. Ptl. Adam Sosnowski was the arresting officer.
Incident 11-24145 - Attempted burglary
On 12/21/11, a resident of Pinecluster Circle, in the Covered Bridge Adult Community, reported that her screen door was cut and that an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry into her residence at approximately 4:40am on December 21. The suspect was not successful and fled the scene prior to patrols arrival. This case is pending investigation.
Incident 11-24168 - Identity theft
On 12/21/11, a Kimberly Court resident reported that an unknown actor gained access to her bank account information and made multiple on-line purchases, totaling over $1,250. This case will be investigated by Sovereign Bank’s security department.
Incident 11-24119 - Harassment
On 12/20/11 I responded to the lobby and spoke with the victim (42 yr. old Manalapan resident). She alleges being harassed by her landlord, (49 yr old male Manalapan resident). She also alleges he stole $250 from her residence. This case is pending investigation.
Incident #2011-23645 1734hrs - Kitchen Fire
On Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 5:34pm patrols responded to a Daum Rd residence, a single family residential house, for a report of a kitchen fire. The fire started due to a cardboard box being placed on an electric stovetop that was accidentally left on. The resident notified her next door neighbor, a retired FDNY member who extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. The damage was contained to the stove area in the kitchen. No injuries were reported. Englishtown and Manalapan Fire Companies, Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid, and the Monmouth County Fire Marshalls Office responded. The fire was determined to be accidental.
Incident #2011-23735 – Identity Theft
On 12/14/2011 the victim, a 54 year old female resident, reported that between November 28, 2011 and December 14, 2011 and unknown actor made unauthorized purchases totaling $3829.28 with her Wachovia credit card. Ptl. Dan Carey took the report.
Incident 2011-23626 – Theft
On 12/13/2011 the victim, 51 year old male resident, reported that an unknown actor removed custom leather fog lamp covers from his Land Rover SUV valued at $250.00. The victim’s vehicle was parked on St. Andrews Place at the time of the theft, which occurred between 7:00 pm on 12/10/2011 and 7:00 am on 12/11/2011
Incident 2011-23616 – Theft from Vehicle
On 12/13/2011 the victim, a 43 year old female resident, reported that at approximately 8:30 am on 12/13/2011 an unknown actor removed her purse which contained assorted credit cards from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Manalapan Recreation Center. Ptl. Peter Chalfin took the report.
Incident # 2011-23594 – Sexual Assault/EWC
As a result of an ongoing investigation the suspect, Jennifer Mahoney Becket Road, Manalapan, NJ, 32 years of age, waitress, single, was charged with Sexual Assault and Endangering the welfare of a child. Mahoney was subsequently lodged in MCCI in default of $250,000 bail. Detective Kevin Schmidt is the assigned to this matter
Incident #2011-23283 Attempted Burglary
On December 8th, 2011 at 1331 hours, patrols responded to Darlington Drive for a report of a Burglary in progress. The investigation revealed that a white female entered the residential home through an opened garage door. The unknown female entered the main portion of the residence and proceeded up the stairs to the second floor when the unknown female encountered a resident of the house. The suspect female saw the homeowner and ran out of the house. The female was described as a white female, in her late 30’s to early 40’s, with dirty blonde hair, wearing white gloves, black leather jacket and dark pants. The suspect fled the area and Manalapan Police checked the surrounding areas with the assistance of a K9 unit from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department. During the incident, no one was injured and nothing was stolen from the house. If anyone has any information concerning this incident, please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300 all information will be kept confidential. Ptl. Incident #2011-23338 Attempted Theft by Deception
On 12/09/11, Patrols responded to a residence on Amberly Drive for a report of fraud. Investigation revealed that the resident there received notification in the mail that he had won a sweepstakes in the amount of $175,000. Enclosed with the letter was a money order in the amount of $2660.00, which the victim was instructed to deposit and wire the money to the Dominican Republic. After doing so, the victim was instructed to wire additional funds, at which point the victim became suspicious and contacted the police. Pending Investigation

On Friday, 12/9/11, this agency responded to a residence on Kensington Drive for a burglary report. Investigation revealed that unknown actor(s) had forcibly pried open a kitchen window and entered the residence. Once inside the residence the actor(s) removed assorted jewelry. This case is pending investigation.
Incident #11-23423 Shoplifting
On Saturday 12/10/11 at approximately 1229 hours, patrols responded to HomeGoods on US Highway 9 for a report of a shoplifter. Prior to patrols arrival, the shoplifter attempted to flee on foot. Total value of the merchandise removed was $178.96. Ptl. Herring located and arrested the shoplifter, F. Rinaudo of Staten Island, NY. He was charged with shoplifting (under $200) and the merchandise was returned to HomeGoods. This case is pending court.
Incident #11-23462, Serious MVA
On Saturday 12/10/11 patrols responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle accident with injuries. Investigation revealed that two people ages 18 and 20 were riding a Honda 4-wheeled ATV on Elkridge Way without helmets when the passenger fell off. The fall caused the victim to suffer a serious head trauma. The victim was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment.The operator of the ATV was identified as Tara Delorenzo, 18, of Manalapan, NJ. The victim is a female, 20, a citizen of Malaysia who is staying with family residing in Manalapan, NJ. Victim was described by medical staff as being in serious condition as of 2200 hours on 12/11/11. The following agencies responded to the scene: Manalapan Police Dept., Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, Gordon’s Corner Fire Co. and MONOC Paramedics. Charges have not been filed as of this date and the incident is being investigated by Ptl. Aronson and Ptl. Hedden of the Manalapan Township Police Dept.
Incident 2011-23579 – Shoplifting
On Monday 12/12/2011 at 6:45 pm patrols responded to Wegmans for a reported shoplifting. Suspect 1 identified as w/f late 30’s to early 40’s, short dark hair approximately 170-180 pounds. Suspect 2 identified as w/f, 40 to 50 yoa, short brown hair, glasses, 160-170 pounds. The suspects removed a significant quantity of health and beauty aids and baby formula. Ptl. Between 5:00pm on 12/10/2011 and 8:00 am on 12/11/2011 an unknown actor(s) attempted to break into the concession stand located in the Manalapan Recreation Center. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli responded.
Incident 2011-23431 – Identity Theft
A 52 year old male resident reported that on 12/10/11 that an unknown actor made 29 charges to their Sovereign Bank account for unauthorized online purchases totaling $718.22. The purchases occurred between November 30, 2011 and December 2, 2011. Ptl. Herring took the report.
Incident 2011-23419 – Theft
On 12/10/2011 the victim, a 37 year old male resident, advised that he purchased gold online and never received the gold. The value of the gold was $8600.00 and the incident occurred on November 16, 2011. Ptl. Michael Hoppock took the report
Incident 2011-23388 – Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute
As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Cedar Court, Sherif Michael, 31 yoa, w/m, manager employed by Mixed Greens of Manalapan, single, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute. Michaels was processed and released without bail, Ptl. Daniel Carey was the arresting officer.
Incident #2011-23049 (Armed Robbery - Gunpoint)
On 12/04/2011 at 2047hrs patrols responded 232 Smithburg Rd. for a report of an attempted armed robbery. Investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect placed an order with the Golden Star Chinese Restaurant located in Freehold, NJ for food to be delivered to the St. James AME church located on Smithburg Rd. When the delivery person arrived at the location an unknown male suspect, wearing gloves, a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, and a mask, appeared and brandished a handgun and ordered the delivery person to drop the food and his money. The delivery person left the food and after a brief struggle was able to get back in his car and drive away before the suspect could get any money from him. The suspect then left the area on foot with the food. No injuries were reported. Pending Investigation.
Incident #2011-22623 (Fraud)
On Monday 11-28-11 a 65 year old resident reported a fraud and theft to this agency. She related that on this date she was contacted by a suspect identifying themselves as a police officer. The suspect stated that her nephew was under arrest for drug trafficking in northern New Jersey and she needed to wire money to bail him out. The caller knew the victim’s nephew’s name and there exact relation so the victim wired $2500.00 to the suspect believing her nephew was in trouble. She later learned that her nephew was safe at home and she had been the victim of a fraud. This agency has seen an increase in these reported scams. Often the caller will know detailed information about the victim. This agency in asking it’s resident to be cautious and vigilant in detecting these scams and to look into the matter before wiring any money. They are often originating, or phoned in, from in different countries. This incident was handled by Ptl. Jeff Emslie #116.
Incident #11-22644 (Motor Vehicle Collision)
On the 29th of November 2011 at approximately 2:55:49 AM Patrolman Schank, assisted by Officers Mattia and Joiner responded code 3 to location for a motor vehicle crash, car vs pole. Upon arrival, investigation revealed that Vehicle 1 struck a utility pole (JC 87 MPN) on Tennent Road. There was minimal damage to the utility pole. No injuries were reported. However the vehicle sustained damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to maintain lane. A collision report was completed Vehicle 1 (NJ) ZKD11S - Owner / Operator.
Incident #11-22645 (Warrant Arrest)
On Tuesday the 29th of November 2011 at approximately 0300 hours Patrolman Steven Turner and Patrolman Mathew Mattia Arrested T. Stephens of Newark, N.J. on an Outstanding Warrant Issued out of Manalapan Municipal Court from April 2011. The Arrestee was remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of bail.
Incident #11-22863 (Vehicle Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief)
On Friday, December 2, 2011 at approximately 0720 hours Patrolman Herring responded to a residence on Demarest Drive for a report of a vehicle burglary. The passenger side window was smashed and the following items were removed – Radar Detector, Gucci Wallet, JanSport Backpack, Two North Face Jackets. This case is pending further investigation.
Incident #11-22938 (Hit & Run)
On Saturday, December 3, 2011 at approximately 0112 hours Patrolman Herring responded to the area of Millhurst Road for a report of an erratic driver. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the driver, a resident of Manalapan, struck an occupied vehicle on Millhurst Road and fled the scene. He was issued summonses for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Report an Accident and Failure to Maintain Lane. A crash report was completed. This case is pending court.
INCIDENT #2011-22568 (Robbery – Gunpoint)
On Monday, November 28, 2011, at approximately 1:00am, an unknown actor robbed the CVS on Woodward Road at gunpoint. The actor is described as a white male who stands approximately 6’2” tall. He wore a navy blue sweat shirt with a hood, a black ski mask, black gloves and reflective sunglasses. After being threatened with a handgun and thrown a small bag, the cashier turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. Patrolman Turner initiated the investigation. Detective Schmidt processed the scene and a K-9 unit was provided by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. This investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #2011-22238 (Burglary / Theft)
A black laptop bag containing an IPad and umbrella was allegedly taken from trunk of the victim’s vehicle between 11/21/2011 at approximately 0700 hrs and 11/22/2011 at approximately 2042 hrs. The victim related that he locked his doors but there were no signs of forced entry. This incident is currently being investigated by Ptl. Voorand #133.
INCIDENT #2011-22327 (DWI)
On 11/23/11 Ptl. Brian Cruse and Ptl. Mattaliano responded to the area of Wilson Ave for a report of a suspicious vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle was located on Wilson Ave turning onto Union Hill Rd. The vehicle was stopped on Union Hill Rd. and the driver, Christopher Miller of Manalapan, was found to be DWI. He was arrested and brought to headquarters where he was processed and issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Improper Passing. Pending Court.
INCIDENT #2011-22375 (Attempted Suicide)
On 11/24/2011, Ptl. Aronson and Ptl. Vigneault responded for a report of a woman unconscious but breathing. Upon arrival, A township resident was treated by patrols and then MON-OC unit 208. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that A township resident tried to commit suicide by taking numerous pills and drinking a bottle of wine. The township resident was stabilized and transported to Centra State Hospital by MON-OC.
INCIDENT #2011-22043 (Attempted Suicide)
On 11/19/2011, Ptl. Cascella and Ptl. Hedden responded to a report of a suicidal/homicidal resident with a gun within his residence. Prior to patrol’s arrival, the subject retreated to the basement and single gun shot was heard by a witness. After carefully securing the area and bystanders, patrol officers found the subject alive. He was transported to Centra State Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
INCIDENT #11-22460 (Criminal Mischief / Theft)
On Saturday morning the 26th of November at approximately 0500 hours the theft of and destruction of waste oil, and the container which it was in were reported to this agency by a representative of Darling International. The incident was reported to have happened in the Towne Point Shopping Center located on Route 9 within this municipality. Officer Mattia had identified suspects earlier on this date and charges are expected to be filed against the suspects in this incident for theft and criminal mischief pending further information.
INCIDENT #2011- 22514 (Theft)
On Saturday, 11/26/2011, a set of keys were removed from the counter of a pizzeria between 2100 and 2200hrs. It is believed that the keys were taken by a black man and white woman who were the only customers to enter the store during the time frame.
The man is described as a black male, about 5-08, about 200lbs., late 30’s, bald, glasses, brown leather jacket, and dark pants. The female was described as a white woman, about 5-04, heavy set, blondish shoulder length hair. This incident was handled by Ptl. Vigneault

On Friday, November 25, 2011, at approximately 8:45pm, an unknown actor forcibly entered a residence on Molly Pitcher Drive through a rear window. It appears that an audible house alarm deterred the intruders immediately after entry was made. Patrolman Aronson responded to the scene along with Detective Mantle. This matter has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

On Saturday, November 26, 2011, at approximately 2:30am, two known subjects removed more than one hundred gallons of cooking oil from a secure oil tank located behind Five Guys Burgers and Fries in the Summerton Plaza. This matter has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 5:00pm, Andy Chiang (38yr, Asian, male from Jersey City), was arrested for shoplifting about $250 worth of food from Wegmans.
Incident #2011-22334 (Drug Arrest - Marijuana)
On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 11:00pm, during a motor vehicle stop with Patrolman Hedden, Brianna Zester (18yr, white, female from Manalapan) was arrested for being in the possession of a rolled marijuana cigar.
Incident #2011-22233 (Drug Arrest - Cocaine)
On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at approximately 5:30pm, Patrolman Carey responded to a residence on Adams Court for a dispute between parents and daughter. During the investigation, Lea Dorfschneider (19yr, white, female from Manalapan) was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Dorfschneider was arrested and processed by Patrolman Carey.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 10:30pm, Christopher Miller (36yr, white, male from Manalapan) was arrested for DWI by Patrolman Cruse after being stopped for numerous motor vehicle violations.
INCIDENT #11-21908 (Criminal Sexual Contact)
A resident of Phoenix Arizona contacted this agency to report an act of criminal sexual contact that occurred approximately 30 years ago in or around Manalapan Township. The victim reported that when he was approximately 13 years old, and living in this area, an unknown camp counselor touched him inappropriately. This case was turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-21814 (Endangering The Welfare Of A Child)
On Monday November 7, 2011, a resident 13 year old made allegations that her step father held her at gun point and forcibly raped her. The family, including a younger sister, and witnesses were interviewed by both members of the Detective Bureau and the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). This incident was determined to be unfounded.
INCIDENT #11-21932 (Residential Burglary)
On Friday November 11, 2011, unknown subjects burglarized a residence on Newport Drive. Patrolman Vigneault responded to the scene and found a rear window that had been pried open and the interior of the residence had been ransacked. On Thursday November 17, 2011, an unknown suspect withdrew money from the checking account of a township resident. The suspect withdrew approximately $800 using local ATM machines over the period of several days. The victim related that he still in possession of all of his credit and ATM cards. This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-22107 (Commercial Burglary)
On Sunday November 20, 2011, unknown subjects broke into Mr. Tire on Route 9 South in Manalapan. The suspects entered through a broken window and forcibly removed the business’ safe which had been bolted to the floor. Patrolmen Emslie and Hedden responded to the scene. This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-21892 (Pick Pocket)
On Thursday November 17, 2011, an unknown person removed a Marlboro resident's wallet from her purse while she was shopping at Wegmans between 12:00 and 1:30p. This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-21375 (Identity Theft)
A resident on Devon Drive North discovered that an unknown person used her social security number to open credit accounts. Her most recent credit report showed a ficticious Sprint Mobile account with a balance of more than $2,000. Additionally, there is a civil claim judgement from the Queens Borough Civil Court in New York City also in excess of $2,000. This investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-23062 (Criminal Mischief)
On Sunday early morning hours, patrols were advised that a vehicle was reportedly driving around the area of Tennent Rd. and was throwing eggs out of the moving vehicle. At approximately 0100 hours Officer Whitehill took a report from someone claiming that there vehicle had been struck by an egg as he was at the intersection of Taylor Mills Rd. and Tennent Rd. A short time later Officer Whitehill conducted a motor vehicle stop of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle matched the description from aforementioned victim. The vehicle was occupied by three young men, they were in possession of an empty egg carton and admitted to having thrown eggs out of their moving vehicle. They were issued a summons and the victim was advised of their apprehension/identification should he wish to pursue the matter; Officer Whitehill was assisted by Patrolman Mattia.
Incident #11-22065 (State Law Violation & Contempt)
On Sunday the 20th of November at approximately 0130 hours Patrolman Herring working a patrol detail stopped Mark Soliman of Parlin for a motor vehicle violation in the area of Route 9. In the process he was found to have a suspended New Jersey Drivers License and also he had an outstanding Warrant out of Old Bridge Township. He was arrested and processed before being released after posting bail.
Incident #11-22023 (Simple Assault)
On Saturday November 19th 2011 at approximately 13:15 hours Patrolman Herring and Patrolman Cascella responded to the Englishtown Auction Sales located on Wilson Avenue, and Sobecko Rd. where they were working a “Plain Clothes security detail. While on this assignment they responded to a reported Assault that had occurred. The subjects were located and identified. They were identified as a vendor at the auction versus a customer of the auction. The parties had conflicting accounts of what had transpired, and no injuries were noted to either party. Neither person wished to pursue the matter criminally; they were advised of the procedure to further pursue charges for the incident. Patrols then cleared the scene.
Incident #11-22063 (State Law Violation)
On Sunday 11/20/2011 at approximately 0100 hours Patrolman Curran working patrol stopped a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation in the area of Pease Road. The driver J. Harris of Lakewood was found to have a suspended New Jersey Drivers License. He was issued Motor Vehicle Summons’ and released pending Municipal Court.
Incident #11-22172 (Suspicious Activity)
On Monday, 21st November 2011 at approximately 1815 hours Officer Cascella and Officer Cruse responded to the area of Rifkin Farms on a report of strange lights circling in the air in the area of the neighborhood causing residents concern. Officers responded and investigated. The lights were determined to be that of a reflection from aerial lights associated with a new business that is located in the on Rt. 9 in freehold and their light display that had been set up to advertise the grand opening.
Incident #11-22174 (Shoplifting / Assist Other)
On Monday, November 21st 2011 at approximately 2000 hours Target Loss Prevention apprehended a female shoplifter who attempted to leave their Department Store with several items concealed on her person valued at approximately $136.00. Ptl Aronson arrived and arrested the subject who was then transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending court. Ptl. Aronson was assisted by Ptl. Ruditsky.

Incident #11-22169 (Motor Vehicle Collision Report)
On Monday, 21st November 2011 at approximately 1800 hours Patrolman Jeff Emslie responded to the Manalapan Township High School for a report of a motor vehicle collision, hit and run. Reported was that a parked vehicle was struck by another moving vehicle. The caller related that the vehicle had left the scene. Upon his arrival at the school Patrolman Emslie located all of the parties involved and that the driver actually had not left the scene. Collision report taken and all parties were identified, damage was minor, no injuries.
INCIDENT #11-21559 (Attempted Auto Thefts)
Sometime between 6:15p on 11/11/2011 and 10:00a on 11/12/2011, unknown actors attempted to steal two motor vehicles (both 2010 Infinity G37s) that were parked in driveways on Winged Foot Drive. Both vehicles had their driver's side door locks damaged in the attmept.
INCIDENT #11-21562 (Vehicle Burglaries)
Sometime between 6:00p on 11/11/2011 and 11:30a on 11/12/2011, unknown actors entered a vehicle that was parked in a driveway on Alexandria Drive. Taken from the unlocked vehicle was a GPS unit, cologne, and two dollars in cash.
During the same time frame, another unlocked vehicle was entered on Belle Terre Drive. Taken from that vehicle were two cell phone chargers and a GPS unit.
INCIDENT #11-21570 (Residential Burglary)
Sometime between 1:00p on 11/11/2011 and 9:00a on 11/12/2011, unknown actors entered a residence on Longstreet Road through a sliding rear door. The residence was ransacked. This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.
INCIDENT #11-21392 (Residential Burglary)
On Wednesday 11/09/2011 between the hours of 11:30a and 5:00p, unknown actors entered a residence on Pension Road by smashed through a master bedroom window. The residence was ransacked and several thousand dollars worth of valuables were taken. The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.
INCIDENT #11-21344 (Disturbance)
On Wednesday 11/09/2011 at approximately 0200 hours Officer O’Brien responded to Regal Rd. for a report of a man banging on the front door of a residence and screaming. He was assisted by Officer’s Turner, and Whitehill. Upon patrols arrival the man was identified as a friend of a resident inside the home who claimed he was owed money. The subject was removed and the occupants of the home were advised of the procedure for filing a criminal complaint.
INCIDENT #11-21339 (Suspicious Vehicle)
On Wednesday 11/09/2011 at approximately 0015 hours Officer Whitehill responded to the Exxon Gas Station located on State Highway Route 9 North in the township for a reported suspicious vehicle. She was assisted once on scene by Ptl. Schank. Upon their arrival they located the vehicle which had been reported as suspicious. The driver and occupant were identified, they were then issued summons for driving while suspended and littering. They were allowed to leave the scene when a parent and valid owner/driver responded to the scene.
INCIDENT #11021416 (Criminal Mischief)
On Thursday 11-10-2011 at approximately 0656 hours Officer Herring responded to 285 Gordons Corner Road for a report of a shattered rear window on a vehicle. The victim advised that she was attending a fitness class from 0550 hour to 0650 hours and when she arrived back to her vehicle, she observed the shattered rear window. No items were removed from the victim’s vehicle. There are currently no suspects.
INCIDENT #11-21510 (Recovered Stolen Vehicle)
On Friday 11/11/2011 at approximately 1606hrs Ptl. Vigneault responded to the Best Buy parking lot for a report of a recovered stolen vehicle. A representative from Sunbelt Rental was on scene and related that the JLG scissor lift had been removed from BJ’s Wholesale in Old Bridge, NJ about two weeks ago. Old Bridge Police Dept. gave this agency permission to release the lift to Sunbelt Rental and the lift was removed.
INCIDENT #2011-21532 (Criminal Mischief)
On Friday 11/11/2011 at approximately 2130 hours I responded to the area of St. Andrews Place in reference to a female subject keying vehicles. Investigation led to the arrest of 62 year Frances Raniere of St. Andrews Place Manalapan NJ. She was charged with criminal mischief, specifically for damaging 38 vehicles which were parked in the area. Ptl. B. Belardo handled the investigation.
Incident #11-21609 (Residential Burglary)
On Sunday 11/13/2011 Officers Hedden and Emslie, and Sgt, Niesz responded to a residence on Dancer Lane for a reported residential Burglary. After checking the home and the surrounding area it appears that the alleged incident had occurred sometime on this date between the hours of 3:30 and 0200 hours. Detective Maltese responded to process the scene, and to further investigate the report. Various items were reported removed from the residence. Anyone with information please contact this agency.

On Thursday November 3, 2011, a Colts Neck resident had her wallet stolen from her pocket book while she was shopping at the Wegmans Food Store on Route 9 South. Contained in her purse was approximately $190 in cash. This is one of several recent pick pocketing incidents at this location within the last few weeks. This investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-20884 9:25am (Motor Vehicle Accident / Obstruction Arrest)
On Wednesday November 2, 2011, Steven Orak (a 24 year old, white male, from Linden NJ) was arrested by Ptl. Grant who was investigating a motor vehicle accident. The investigation revealed that Orak drove his car into the back of a pickup truck on Route 9 South and then attempted to flee the scene.

On Saturday October 29, 2011, Gary Patier (a 58 year old, unemployed white male, from Jersey City, NJ) was found urinating on the side of Oakland Mills Road by Ptl Belardo. Following an investigation, Patier was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

On Wednesday November 2, 2011, a 70 year old Manalapan resident reported that he has been receiving approximately fifty calls per week on cell phone from an unidentified party. These calls have been occurring every week for approximately one year.

On Thursday November 3, 2011, Pantano Nursery and Landscape Supply reported that a resident in Westfield, NJ paid for landscaping materials with a fraudulent check. This incident has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.
INCIDENT #11-20726 11:30pm (Assault)
On Sunday October 30, 2011, at approximately 2330hours, Patrolman Mattia and Ptl Sosnowski responded to 327 Rt. 33 for a reported simple assault. There was a minor injury reported and the dispute was allegedly over cigarettes. The parties were separated the matter was investigated, and the injured party was treated and released by EMFAS. Upon speaking to the two individuals involved they did not wish to pursue the matter, they were advised of the Criminal Complaint procedure should they wish to proceed.

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the victim responded to this agency to report that an unknown actor(s) removed his “We the People” bicycle from a Dey St. address sometime between 1845hrs on 10/28/11 and 1500hrs on 10/29/11. Victim related that bike was valued at $700.00. Ptl. Jason Vigneault took the report.
INCIDENT 2011-20698 – (Criminal Mischief)
Sometime between 5:00 pm on 10-29-2011 and noon on 10-30-2011 an unknown actor slashed all four tires on the victim’s vehicle, 2009 Subaru, while it was in the driveway of a Oak Knoll Drive residence. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.
INCIDENT 2011-20727 1:30 am (Criminal Mischief/Curfew Violation)
As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Old Queens Blvd on October 31, 2011, one 17 year old male from Manalapan and one 17 year old male from Freehold were taken into custody for criminal mischief and curfew violation. As a result of the investigation it was ascertained that the males egged a vehicle located on Springhouse Circle. Both juveniles were released to the custody of a parent. Ptl. Daniel Carey handled the incident.
INCIDENT 2011- 20734 – 12:37 am (Possession of Marijuana)
As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Old Queens Blvd on October 31, 2011, Samuel Norman – 15 Stratford drive, Manalapan (18 year old w/m, unemployed) was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, unclear license plates and failure to exhibit dl. Ptl. Daniel Carey made the arrest.
INCIDENT2011-20313 - 1:13PM (DWI- Motor Vehicle Accident)
On October 25, 2011, patrols responded to Woodland Circle for a report of a fully involved car fire. While enroute patrols were advised that a white male subject had fled the scene on foot. Members of the Gordons Corner Fire Company responded and extinguished the vehicle, a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta. Patrolman Kevin McIntosh located the suspect, identified as Jonathan Ackerman (27 yoa, w/m, Toms River, occupation unknown) on Manor Court and he then fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the suspect was taken into custody with the assistance of Detective Charles Alaimo and Leonard Maltese. The investigation revealed that the suspect left the roadway while travelling on Tennent Road and struck a sign post which ruptured the fuel tank. The leaking fuel ignited as the suspect was driving on Woodland Circle. The suspect was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to report an accident and resisiting arrest. The suspect was transported to Centrastate Hospital for an evaluation.
INCIDENT 2011-20138 - 3:44am (DWI – Motor Vehicle Accident)
On October 23, 2011, police were dispatched to report of a hit and run accident on Westbrook way where the suspect drove across a yard striking several trees prior to fleeing the scene. Police recovered the suspect’s license plate at the scene and subsequently located and arrested Glenn Aaronson of Alexandria Dirve, Manalapan (29 yoa, w/m self employed). Aaronson was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to exhibit documents, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failure to report a motor vehicle accident.
INCIDENT 2011-20084 – 6:14am (DWI)
On October 22, 2011, the suspect was stopped on Gordon’s Corner Road near Pease Road for operating a vehicle with a flat tire. The suspect Lisa Jaco (w/f , 43 yoa, Cashier) was subsequently charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Unsafe tires, and having a cracked windshield. Ptl. Morgan Joiner made the arrest.
INCIDENT 2011- 20131 – 12:00am (DWI – Motor Vehicle Accident)
On October 22, 2011, at midnight, Sharon Belnavis – (57 yoa, B/f, Shipping and receiving clerk) was involved in a motor vehicle accident on State Hwy 33 east near Country Lanes Bowling Center when she struck a telephone pole. She was subsequently charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, uninsured motor vehicle, and open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. No one was injured during the accident and Ptl. Dominick Donatelli was the arresting officer.
INCIDENT 2011-20063 – 9:09pm (Serious Motor Vehicle Accident)
On October 21, 2011, patrols responded to Iron Ore Road near Mt. Vernon Road for a reported motor vehicle accident (2007 Nissan Murano) with involveing an overturned vehicle. Patrol responded and subsequently requested Medivac for a 52 year old male Manalapan resident. The victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson and treated and released. Ptl. Eric Voorand handled the initial accident and this matter is pending investigation.
INCIDENT 2011-20035 (Vehicle Burglary)
During the overnight hours from Thursday 10/20/11 until Friday 10/21/11 three vehicles were entered and items were removed. All three vehicles were parked in the victim’s driveway and were unlocked. The first occurred on Peach Tree Lane and involved two vehicles. Taken were cash and change, a camera and various CD’s. The second incident occurred on Turtle Hollow Drive. Taken were a briefcase, laptop and change. Ptl. Robert Kelly and Ptl. Peter Chalfin responded. The cases have been turned over to the Detective Bureau.

On October 20, 2011, the victim, a 59 year old, white female, Iselin resident, related that an unknown actor removed $1130.54 in cash and a check book from her purse while she was at work. INCIDENT 2011-19993 (Theft)
On October 20, 2011, between 1:36 pm and 2:15 pm, an unknown actor removed a wallet from the victim’s purse (79 yoa, w/f , Marlboro resident) while she was shopping at the Wegmans Store. Taken was $250.00 in cash and numerous credit cards. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.
INCIDENT 2011-19925 (Robbery – Aggravated Assault)
On October 29, 2011, at 2:49 pm, patrols responded to Mt. Vernon for a reported assault and robbery that had occurred. The victim related that he was assaulted by two males and robbed of $700.00 in cash. The victim was transported to Centrastate Hospital and his condition is unknown. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli responded and this matter is being investigated by Donatelli and members of the detective bureau
INCIDENT 2011-19845 – 12:19 pm (Theft)
On October 18, 2011, patrols were dispatched to a report of a female entering vehicles in the parking lot of the Yorktowne Shopping center. Upon arrival they observed a female matching the description and a subsequent investigation found her to be in possession of 2 Garmin GPS units. The suspect, Ashley Corrao (6 Lee St, South River, NJ – w/f – 09/18/1993, unemployed) was subsequently charged with Burglary and receiving stolen property. She was remanded to MCCI in default of $11,000.00 bail. Captain Chris Marsala and Ptl. Michael Hoppock were the arresting officers
INCIDENT 2011-19891 – 11:05 pm (Aggravated Assault)
On October 18, 2011, patrols were dispatched to 160 Oakland Mills road for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival it was determined that a 52 year old male victim had been stabbed once in the upper chest. The victim was subsequently transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune for treatment. A male suspect, identified as Erikan Hassan (29 yrs, w/m, unemployed) was located at the scene and subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The suspect was lodged in MCCI with a $10,000 no 10% bail.
INCIDENT 2011-19809 – 9:46 pm (Drug Distribution)
As a result of an investigation by Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik on October 17, 2011 at 9:46pm, Davon Rolfe (18D Pinecluster Cirlce, Manalapan, DOB:07/17/81, black male, self-employed) – was charged with Distribution of Oxycodone, Possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and tinted windows. The suspect was processed and lodged in MCCI in default of 20,000 bail with no 10% option. A 2003 Acura TL and $1755.00 in cash was seized for forfeiture.
INCIDENT J-2011-16744 (Aggravated Assault)
Four local juveniles have been charged by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office with robbery, aggravated assault, and inciting a riot after an investigation into a late night robbery. On September 1, at approximately 11:30pm in the area of Holiday Park on Blenheim Road, four juveniles jumped two victims who were riding their bikes. During the assault, one victim had his jaw broken before his bike was stolen. This incident was investigated by the Detective Bureau.
INCIDENT 2011-19611 – 1:34 am (DWI)
On October 15, 2011, Stephen Romanowitch 3rd (3 Shades of Death Road, Great Meadows, NJ 07838, 37 year old Male) was stopped for a motor violation of Route 9 North near Taylor Mills Road on 10/15/2011 at approximately 0127 hrs. During the stop, Stephen was found to be Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was arrested and was given six motor vehicle summonses which include 39:4-50 – DWI. Ptl. Voorand handled this incident.
INCIDENT 2011-19671 - 9:40pm (Weapons Possession)
On October 15, 2011, Matheus R. Pontes (26 Forest Dr, Manalapan, NJ 07726) was stopped for motor vehicle violation on Union Hill Rd. and Forest Dr at approximately 2140 hours. During the stop Matheus was found to be in possession of a switchblade knife with metal knuckles. He was arrested and served with summons for unlawful possession of weapon and possession of switchblade knife and metal knuckles. Ptl. Dan Carey #125 handled this incident.

On October 12, 2011, after being contacted by authorities at Manalapan High School, a 15 year old male was charged with aggravated assault at the Manalapan High School after he pushed a security officer while being detained. The juvenile was processed and released to his mother. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli Jr handled the incident.
INCIDENT J2011-19482 – 07:44 am (Drug Arrest)
On October 13, 2011, two Manalapan juveniles, a 16 year old male and a 17 year old female were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia (pipe) after being observed smoking marijuana on school property. The juveniles were detained by school security and Ptl. Peter Chalfin responded to the call. Both juveniles were processed and released to their parents.
INCIDENT 2011-19483 – 7:55 AM (Vehicle Burglary)
Sometime between 8:30 pm on October 12th and 6:00 am on October 13th unknown actor entered a van parked in a driveway on Navajo Road and removed various power tools valued at more than $1500.00. There was no sign of forced entry and Ptl. Seth Kreizman took the report. This incident has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

Sometime between midnight and 2 am on 10/13/2011 an unknown actor stole a black, 2010 Toyota Rav 4 from a Pension road driveway. The vehicle is valued at $30,000.00 – Ptl. Kevin McIntosh took the report. This incident has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

INCIDENT 2011-18870 – 3:40 pm (Shoplifting)
On Monday, October 3, 2011, at approximately 1540 hours, this agency was contacted by Wegmans Loss Prevention in reference to a shoplifting that was taking place. Loss Prevention indicated that they observed two subjects shoplifting assorted baby products (formula and diapers). Upon arrival contact was made with the arrestee in the parking lot of the shopping center. Danielle Anunziata (25 yoa, w/f) of South Amboy was placed under arrest for shoplifting. A male suspect had left the area prior to patrols arrival. The merchandise was valued at $897.71. It should be noted that Wegmans was able to recover all of the merchandise. This case is pending court. Ptl. Jared Aronson responded.

On October 4, 2011 Omars S. Aburub, age 21 of Marlboro Township New Jersey was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of this authority by Patrolman Heitz. He was released from custody after posting bail.
INCIDENT 2011-18924 - 1:58 pm (Hit and Run Accident)
On October 4, 2011, a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Michael Mintz of Freehold, NJ struck a parked vehicle in the Home Goods parking lot on Route 9 South in Manalapan Township. Mintz's vehicle then left the scene. A witness to the collision reported the incident to the police and Patrolman George Heitz was able to identify and charge Mintz with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Report an Accident, and Carless Driving.
INCIDENT 2011-19272 – 9:44 pm (DWI)
On October 9, 2011, after being observed driving the wrong way on State Hwy 33, Josie Velosa (48 yoa, Hispanic male) was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, careless driving, driving with a suspended license, being an unlicensed driver, and driving the against traffic. Incident 2011-18439 (Warrant Arrest)
On 09/26/2011 Patrolman Peter Chalfin responded to Arbach Lane upon a report of an ATV being operated recklessly on the roadway. Ptl. Chalfin responded and located the suspect, identified as Max Goldberg, 19 yoa, w/m – 24 Arbach Lane). The officer approached the suspect in his driveway and requested his driver’s license at which time the suspect entered his residence and refused to exit telling the officer to come back when he had a warrant. The suspect was subsequently charged with eight motor vehicle violations: reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to use turn signal, use of ATV on public roadway, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, failure to display registration, and failure to wear a helmet. He was also charged with a criminal violation for Obstructing the administration of justice. Officers returned to the residence with the arrest warrant and took the suspect into custody, he was subsequently lodged in MCCI in default of $1000.00 bail.
Incident 2011-18440 (Vehicle Burglary)
Sometime between 1 pm Sunday 09/25/2011 and 1100 am Monday 09/26/2011 unknown actor(s) entered the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway on Ryan Road. The suspect removed an ipod, gps, and a Bluetooth speaker with a total value of $365.00. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle.

Sometime between 9 pm on 09/26/2011 and 620 am on 09/27/2011 unknown actor(s) removed a Burgundy, 2010 Mercedes Benz GL450 from a residence on Silver Leaf Way. Ptl. Mattia responded and this matter has been turned over to the Detective Bureau.

Sometime between 1130 pm Monday 09/26/2011 and 1000 am Tuesday 09/27/2011 unknown actor(s) removed a blue, 2012 BMW 650 convertible from the driveway of a Carrie Drive residence. Ptl. Jared Aronson responded and this matter is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

Sometime on 09/27/2011 an unknown actor entered a residence on Joseph Street and removed a compound saw and portable air compressor. Access was gained to the residence after the actor activated the garage door opener from within the victim’s vehicle. Ptl. Sometime between 830pm Monday 09/26/2011 and 1 pm Tuesday 09/27/2011 unknown actors removed prescription medication from an unlocked vehicle parked on Deer Way. Ptl. Jason Vigneault responded.
Incident 2011-18537 (Stolen Vehicle)
Sometime between 1000 pm on 09/27/2011 and 0525 am on 09/28/2011 unknown actor(s) removed a 2011 Black Landrover valued at $ 63,000 from a residence on Turtle Hollow Drive. The vehicle which was equipped with smartkey technology had the keys left in the vehicle. Ptl. Steve Turner responded and this incident is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

Incident J2011-17986 (Drug Arrest)
On 09/20/2011 at 0803 am police were contacted to respond to Manalapan High School at the request of school officials. As the result of a school investigation three Manalapan juveniles, two 17 year old males were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia (pipe), one 16 year old female was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of Xanax without a prescription. All 3 were processed and released to their parents. Ptl. Kevin McIntosh was the arresting officer.

Sometime between 735 pm on 09/22 and 835 pm on 9/22 unknown actor(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Knox Lane and subsequently removed a laptop with case valued at $1100.00.
Incident 2011-18303 (Criminal Mischief)
On 09/24/2011 at 1209 pm 1 male and 2 female juveniles damaged the metal gate and broke a window to the concession stand at the Dreyer lot pavilion in the Manalapan Recreation Center. The case in pending investigation by Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik.

On 09/24/2011 an Iron Ore Road resident reported a burglary to a residence. An unknown actor(s) entered the residence and removed assorted power tools between 09/11/2011 and 09/24/2011. Ptl. Brian Schank responded and the matter has been assigned to the Detective Bureau.

On 09/24/11 between 0010 am and 0715 am unknown actor entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet containing personal items and cash while the vehicle was parked in the Wegman’s lot. Security camera footage is being reviewed. Ptl. Brian Schank responded.

Sometime on 09/23/2011 an unknown actor(s) forcibly entered a residence on Sweetman’s Lane and removed jewelry and loose change. Entry was gained by forcing open a front window. Ptl. Schank responded and the matter has been assigned to the detective bureau.
Incident 2011-18349 (Hit and Run Accident)
On 09/25 at 0243 am as a result of dispute between two parties, Anthony Scafuri (24 yoa – w/m- Manalapan) was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to report a motor vehicle accident and driving without headlights. Scafuri reportedly drove over the foot of a pedestrian on Craig Road at Adams Court resulting in a minor injury. Ptl. Dennis O’Brien handled the investigation.
Incident 2011-18361 (Drug Distribution)
As a result of a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman James Joiner and Patrolman Kenneth Mikulik on Wilson Ave at 1213pm on 09/25/2011 Richard Trujillo (h/m – 23 yoa – Elizabeth, NJ – single) was arrested and charged with possession of of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to wear a seatbelt and loud exhaust. He was subsequently lodged in MCCI in default of $1000.00 bail.
